View Full Version : Geekiest place you've ever been

Ksar Haddada in southern tunisia, where they filmed bits of The Phantom Menace. It wasn't the reason we went there, but sitting in the Mos Espa slave quarters (or whatever) felt very geeky. It was made worse by the fact that it wasn't one of the decent Star Was films, that at least have a bit of cool factor...

Second geekiest would have to be the nearby town of Tataouine.

I went into a Games Workshop when I was about 12, thinking it sold computer games. That WAS geeky!

But do you go on there to talk "shop" or just to use and abuse the geeks for the info you need?

The HCC dagen, it's a Dutch computer fair...

It was really bizarre to see people smiling from ear to ear while they were carrying a 35 kilogram monitor around...

Yeah, just to get help when the normal help files aren't in-depth enough really. Even I don't love fonts enough to post there all the time...

I'm not sure of the exact geekiness ratings, but I've been to all-night strategy-game LAN parties, the various places around Queenstown where they filmed bits of LOTR, and a Poly meet which involved a side-trip to the British Museum...

Had a friend that was just on a date- they were supposed to go to a jazz club, but at the last minute decided to visit the area where Ebola first broke out in the US (used to be a monkey house, now its a school, she said).

Geek date extraordinaire.

she also said she had a great time

I've been to a poly meet once, at the computer fair Zopperoni was talking about. That was quite a geeky place.
