Interesting.

Bloc Party? Apparently Maximo Park is really good, I was going to try and catch them at Reading. Listening to The Go! Team now...

Apparantly, the Kaiser Chiefs took a film crew to to Ladbrokes, near Trafalgar Square at lunchtime and placed 2 bets on themselves to win. :hmm: thrifty

That's the advance for the next album blown then!

How much did they put on a riot starting?

I wasn't aware they had ever made such a prediction

Coldplay? Why?

I think this award should be aimed more at up and coming bands/artists. I mean, do Coldplay really need anymore exposure?

Hard Fi are the worst thing I've heard in a long, long time.

Really?

Oh my god I can't believe it

It's the mercurys. Always nominated are one giant mainstream indy band and a token jazz act. It's tradition.

Coldplay won't win it because as you say, the award is for breakthrough artists and innovation. It would lose a lot of cred. But, why even nominate them. Its so fucking redundant.

Maximo Park are worse than Hard-Fi

But they are on Warp Records, so there at least slightly cool.

Hard Fi are just some half shirtboy/ half chav piece of shit and not even original at that (remember Audio Bullys?). That Mike Skinner chap has a lot to answer for.

It's supposed to just be the 'best British albums of the year' but how do you define that?

Good to get nominated though, does your sales a lot of good.

I agree. Their music mirrors the content of a CCTV tape - Poor quality, faceless and no use to anyone!:D

I don't know if I've heard them or not. Went to check out their website but they only have links to sites to buy their mp3s so fuck 'em.

Better check out Maximo Park next.

The Go! Team was good stuff.

Hmm. That single is pretty lightweight. They do have an umlaut though.

I saw a hard fi video and liked it. It might not have been them though. It sounded sort of techno in the chorus.

Phil form Euclid auditioned for that band when they were being manufactured.

Oh, was that them? He said they were knobs.
