Quite an interesting list. :)

I know a lot of the quotes even if they are from movies I haven't seen which I guess is a good test of a quote.

And it's interesting to see some of the differences between the real quote and the way it's popularly phrased. eg.

Play it, Sam. Play 'As Time Goes By.'

Surprised there's not a Matrix quote or something.

A census taker once tried to test me. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice Chianti.

He he I like that one. Doesn't he use the exact same quote in Hannibal though?

Really the most interesting thing about the list is how cold some of those quotes look in black and wite as opposed to when performed.
I had heard about the line 'Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn.' way before i had seen the film and i thought 'what's so amazing about that'?
But spoken as it is in the film, with the emphasis on 'give', it sounds great.

One of my favourites on that list is 'You know how to whistle, don't you, Steve? You just put your lips together and blow.' as delivered by Lauren Bacall. That is probably the sexiest film line ever.

Yes, some of them do look lame out of context. :)

I still haven't seen the whole of Casablanca but I know all the quotes and I think I've seen the clips of all those lines.

One of the better top 100 lists ever done. Sure you could argue some, but for the most part, all the best are on there.

I still haven't seen the whole of Casablanca but I know all the quotes and I think I've seen the clips of all those lines. You should watch it if you get the chance, the picture is full of classic scarcasim, a lot of it very subtle.

An example, between Claude Rains and Bogart:

"Why did you come to Casablanca?"

"I came for the waters"

"What waters? We are in the middle of the desert"

"I was mis-informed"

casablanca is the most overrated film ever. it has about two funny lines, and the rest is dull as dreary drawn out dishwater.

and i'm a Bogie fan. Watch the African Queen instead, its his finest moment.

Classic heckle for Casablanca - Bogie puts his hands into his pockets;

"Look out darlin'! He's going to show you the white eared elephant!"
