Caduta (http://it.wordreference.com/it/en/translation.asp?iten=caduta&v=b) Massi would literally mean boulders chute, boulders falling.

It's a danger sign on mountain roads.


rolling stones would translate as pietre rotolanti, which sounds awful in italian too

pietre che rotolano
is a bit more longwinded but sounds more natural
