Thanks to someone somewhere I started reading Assassins Apprentice yesterday and am now halfway done with it. Not only is the book a page-turner, but I found myself reflecting on many of the situations that Fitz experiences as well as many phrases put there by the author. It is excellently written, to say the least, and am enjoying it immensely. So, whoever told me to read it, thanks. I can't wait to get through them all, and then move on to more books by the same author.

Unfortunately Robin Hobb, like so many authors, seems to lack the ability to transition cleanly.
This series seems to wander off into neverland and get lost for a while after another "Deus ex machina".

If you can tolerate the death/rebirth scene it's quite a good series..
