My first proper job interview, for a position at TNT in data entry. There's one place left, and the other applicant was also referred by a TNT employee, so I've got to make a good impression, or it's bye-bye caravan :(

Cruddy

Well, good luck with it.

And you don't have to deal with people.

Good luck.

It's easy to be funny when posting pictures of yourself getting anally violated.

I was being serious. While you're working, you can look for any other job, and pretty much anything you find will be less tedious.

For me, the two saving graces that justify the 3 hour commute are the casual office atmosphere, and the funny names you enter (eg "So Hung" and "Dino Petropoulos").

mr.G

the one DE job I did we were spied on very efficiently so we couldn't skive.

Cruddy
16-06-2005, 18:42:46
So how did it go Alsieboo? Did your nerve hold or were you left drained by the interview experience?

Oerdin
16-06-2005, 19:04:28
TNT the television network?

Cruddy
16-06-2005, 19:18:26
No, they're a courier company in the UK. Bit like UPS.

Oerdin
16-06-2005, 19:21:07
Oh, well UPSis a union job so if this TNT is the same then it would likely be a decent job.

Cruddy
16-06-2005, 19:39:33
...uh, union laws are not what they were in the UK.

What France and Germany are going through now is pretty much what the UK went through in the 80s.

Venom
16-06-2005, 19:43:29
It's not like US unions for sure. They're like Titans.

Cruddy
16-06-2005, 19:48:10
Here they are more like balloons - big but just full of hot air.

Venom
16-06-2005, 19:50:13
I miss the days of the Pinkerton boys and the strikebreakers.

Oerdin
16-06-2005, 20:05:54
I remember reading about the GM strike a few years back and one of the compliants the Union had with GM was that Pinkerton Security was being used as security guards at the various factories. It's been 70 years and still the UAW still haven't given up their grudge against Pinkerton.

Venom
16-06-2005, 20:09:13
Just like I can never drive a Mitsubishi since they made torpedos to shoot at my Gramps and his homies.

Cruddy
16-06-2005, 20:10:16
What you moaning about? They missed didn't they?

More's the fucking pity.

Venom
16-06-2005, 20:12:07
Gramps caught a torpedo in his teeth and threw it back at the damn slant eyed Japs.

Cruddy
16-06-2005, 20:17:30
Well, there you go. It was clearly a defective torpedo.

You should be thanking them for not building something more lethal.

Although I can see why you wouldn't want one of their automobiles.

Venom
16-06-2005, 20:20:17
Then he got shot in the ass by one of his fellow troops.
