Not really much of a challenge, though...

This is a reminder of our heritage. The very first post I ever made on alpha.owo elicted the response "You disgust me!" from another poster. Had that not happened, causing me to spend some time berating the person in question with a few colourful descriptions, I may well never have become a regular poster there. That would have meant I wouldn't have come here, or Poly either.

The person who I managed to disgust with my first post was Black Dragon, who later changed his name to Shi Huangdi. Nothing ever really changes, does it?

True story.

What did you say which compelled him to react so strongly?

It was a fairly typical abortion debate. Full of frothing invective about how it's murder, and how people would go to hell. I think my post simply read (in its entirety) "I think it's been made quite clear that a good aborting would have been the best thing that could have happened to a couple of people here".

Subtle, as always.

One of the first posts I made on Apolyton was to call somebody a "pigfucker"

He was a racist twat, though, so I'm proud of it...

I've got a very English sense of humour- it's cruel, jibing, pretty dark and saturated with ambiguities. Among British posters, and those who understand the humour, that's not a problem. However some people always take it at face value and miss the humour. Then, of course, I'm too irritable and pig-headed to patiently nurse them through the experience.

I'm not perfect, but if I was I'd be fucking unbearable.

I'd ask for a link but I'm already enjoying the job Laz is doing on Shi.

Lazarus and the Gimp

It's a joke. I've always liked Evan, so to be informed I've been pursuing an ongoing vitriolic harassment campaign against him is a bit of a surreal experience.

Shame MIng closed the thread really. It was getting interesting.

Stefu X

Yeah, really. (I just got to reading the thread, I'm usually not too interested in wacky Evan antics)

I wonder what prompted this particular Shi outburst of Apolyton Morality Policing. It's like all the sudden he's going "Oh Laz, you and your vitriolic sociopathy!" or something. Shi's always had a bit of that tendency though.

Sometimes I wish that Poly mods wouldn't just go around closing threads that don't look kulturnyi enough. Oh well.

Catholic American Pollyanna Syndrome.

You get the same thing with Ben Kenobi, only the Canadian 'Anne of Green Gables' version.

Well, this evening I had three PM's at Poly. Two from Shi, and one from Evan/Thorn.

The Shi ones, predictably enough, simultaneously annoyed and amazed me, while the Thorn one simply reaffirmed my belief that he's a Prince among men. Bless him- I owe him several drinks.

I only (used to) get PMs from Ming :(

Out of respect for Evan, I'll pass. Let's just say it made my jaw drop, and confirmed he's a good choice to have on your side.

Spare a thought for our own Krazyhorse instead, who appears to be taking part in a Poly meet with the greatest concentration of people I've ever hurld abuse at out of anger, or just because I thought it would be really funny.

Hmmm. Shi (no longer coming) and Winston?

Surely not JM?

Oh, maybe Ozzy...

I have the same feelings towards Cecil 'Knobber' Parkinson, Jonathan Ross and Margaret Thatcher and Mark Kermode.

The only solution is a Chinese style bile drain and copious amounts of Gaviscon- oh and random acts of malice, spite and ultraviolence on garden gnomes, traffic wardens and Sky satellite dishes.

He seemed alright. Quiet at first, got a bit louder after a few beers.

I can see one of those Conterglow legends taking form in that last post.

We're all Keith.
It's Bossman's fault.
Fergus and the Brazen Car is married to Laz Gimp.

That sort of thing.

God that's obscure. It's taken me a few minutes trying to work out the 'joke'. Are you saying he meant forum?

I can't see another word that could take an extra u
