I want one that I can use to make cool T-shirt designs...

What is the quality of the printer t-shirt paper - is it permanent or shit quality crap?

Depends on what you count as permanent. Any fine detail or vibrant colour will probably wash out pretty quick.

Yeah, I thought as much...:(

What sort of timescale are we talking about?

After five or six washes, say goodbye to most of the color on those babies. The best thing to do is to design the shirt you want and to send in the design to a T-Shirt outlet that will do custom designs for cheap (They are out there).

Thanks for confirming my suspicions!

iron ons are definately shit, see the lady rachel acolyte tees from oh years back I made. :)

I know some guys who could create you a proper custom t-shirt if you wanted. Wouldn't be exactly cheap though!

I've used WHSmith's own brand iron-on t-shirt transfers, and they've been ok. Obviously they crack and fade, but if you oversaturate your colours when you first print them out they don't bad at all (though I'm of the opinion that tshirts look a bit better "worn in" anyway...).

Actually that lasted quite a while, and when it finally gave up the ghost it was more a case of the whole iron-on part disintegrating rather than fading away...

Screen printing is king.
