Most Interested Next Generation Console
1. Nintendo Revolution - 42.2%
2. Sony PlayStation 3 - 39.8%
3. Microsoft Xbox 360 - 18.0%

Why do you like Revolution?
- Compact design, typical Nintendo style
- Able to download Famicom (NES), SFC (SNES) and Nintendo 64 games
- Possible innovative / new designs in Revolution
- Confidence in the hardware

Why do you like PlayStation 3?
- Outstanding technical specifications, standout against other next generation consoles
- Downward compatibility with PSone and PlayStation 2
- Cell processor and Bluray support are unique to the console
- Like the design of the console (but the controller design is crazy)

Why do you like Xbox 360?
- Developer support is splendid, especial people like Akira Toriyama and Sakaguchi.
- Square Enix supports the console
- Positive console design, color, technical specs and software lineup
- Console can stand vertically

interesting stuff

love the last reason for being excited about xbox360 :D

Anyone noticed how poor the GC has been doing over here...? HMV and Virgin have completely stopped stocking their games (not that I buy from there; but it did strike me as odd...!)

Yeah, and the rest of the world's people are so much like the Japanese.

Really? I'm sure I saw Gamecube stuff in both of them last time I was in.

hmv.co.uk has gamecube games for sale still.

They still have a huge influence on the industry!

I meant to make a comment about their TV, but I forgot.

To be fair we could probably have written all those opinions of the Japanese public without going through the bother of actually asking them. :D Not really any surprises there.

It still baffles me why so many people care about the outward design of the consoles. I admit that I wouldn't buy a console that looked like a giant dripping cock, but generally speaking I can't see how it makes the slightest bit of difference.

I think it's because Consoles are much more visible than home computers. They have an extremely wide consumer base and they tend to be much more frequently based in living rooms or other public rooms than PCs so it's more important that they don't look shit.

There's a similar thing with multimedia PCs - you tend to get much more attention spent on the look of the thing than you do on a desktop PC that would be more likely to be hidden away in an office or whatever.

Obviously it's not important for everyone but it definitely is a factor worth considering in such a competitive market.

Hmm, for me, developer support has to be the main factor. It's only when you've got a million code monkeys battling away that you get games that make optimum use of the potential speed.

I think X-Box and PS will be well provided for in this respect.

Only if it came complete with rumble pack and motorised squirter.
