Of course we remember you, and of course we miss you.

Take care of yourself and come back whenever you want.

I certainly have- I've got a new 10-day old daughter called Ellen.

You have been missed- but the hope was that you were busy with life and happier with it.

Don't we even get an update?

22-05-2005, 05:56:41
homework? i wish i had homework..i graduated from college two years ago.

update: well...ugh...still with Andre...been dating over 2 years. I'm still nuts. i still suffer from depression. I still dislike my mother. I hate my job though..with a passion..a lot of work for little pay. I've nearly walked out..then i remember i'd be living on the street if i did that. ANd I've been playing FFXI..and i'm really starting to hate that game cause it kinda takes over your life if you're not careful. ANd i have been trying to get into graduate school but i keep getting rejected. so...if i have to rate my life on a scale of 1 to 10 i'd rate it at a 4. ... just cause work sucks so bad.

The good thing about low paid jobs is that they tend to be easier to replace.

22-05-2005, 09:24:27
But the replacement will likely be equally shitty.

22-05-2005, 09:25:29
BTW San Diego Police Department is hiring 100 people at $50k-$65k in the first year after academy. If you are interested.

22-05-2005, 09:43:56
i'd make a horirble cop..you know that.

22-05-2005, 10:30:03
I think that's one of the qualities they look for.

22-05-2005, 16:57:12
I suppose you are right DM but I thought I'd mention it since there are so many openings and you said you dislike your job.

23-05-2005, 06:30:17
my goal is to get into a grad school..
i figure if i get in next year it wouldn't be good to have had another job for just one year....
that's my logic at least..
course..i said that last year :/

23-05-2005, 08:23:46
:) nice meeting you!!!

23-05-2005, 09:33:13
What schools are you apply to? Just local ones like SDSU, UCSD, USD, SMSU, etc... or are you looking to relocate? If you prefer not to relocate then depending upon the program you are interested in San Diego State or San Marcos State might be a good value while if you had poor grades in undergrade but still want to go to grade school then you could always elect for a private school like USD, Point Loma, or Alliant here in San Diego.

Why not tell us more about the type of program you're looking for and maybe we can help you narrow down your search? Also what did the schools which rejected you say? Often times their rejection letters will have clues in them which might help you during the next round of applications.

23-05-2005, 10:19:37
hey I still remember you dmk, though it helps we actually met in person.

I don't know much about graduate school. What is graduate school. How does it differ from college? The college academic system always seemed confusing to me, I guess that's why I have never went to college.

23-05-2005, 13:00:24
Graduate school is where you go to get an advanced degree like a Master's or PHD. You end up coming out sounding like Provost Harrison. ;)

I'll likely go back to get an MBA in a year or two but first I'd like to build a bit more experience.

23-05-2005, 14:57:56
Is an MBA useful in the California Highway Patrol?

24-05-2005, 01:07:58
well, the problem stemmed from last go around I only had enough money to apply to one school..sdsu. it really sucks to be dirt poor. I'm applying to poetry programs and sdsu was the closest. this next go around i'm HOPING to have more money to apply to more places. I wouldn't mind relocating. Cali is a hole. I was thinking of trying to look for a nice place in canada..repeat applying to sdsu, maybe apply for screen play at ucsd...try Univeristy of New Orleans again...maybe try a few in texas again. It depends on how much money i can save..which is hard when you virtually live paycheck to paycheck just to survive.

oh yeah..car broke down again today >< could be somethine big but andre seemed unable to describe the problem to me so i don't know what's going on. ><

Not really.

DM, I believe some schools will wave the application fee if you can show financial need. Maybe you could call a few schools and speak to an adviser about it when you apply next time.
