First of all, here's an official high-res image of the Xbox 360 and the controller: http://images.betanews.com/betanews/articles/1115954701/xbox360.jpg
Certainly a huge improvement over the current Xbox. You can also power the console on/off using the controller (which are all wireless).
The official specs are very impressive: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox360/factsheet.htm
Highlights:
3 (Three) 3.2GHz PowerPC processors based on IBM's POWER5 server processor. For comparison, Apple's G5 uses PowerPC processors based on IBM's older POWER4 server processor. These 3 processors are on the same physical core, and each processor can handle 2 hardware threads (called SMT). Each hardware thread has access to their own set of registers, including the 128 VMX (AltiVec) registers.
512MB of 700MHz GDDR3 RAM (effective 1400MHz RAM) = 22.4GB/s bandwidth
500MHz Custom ATI graphics chip: 48 pixel/vertex shading units(!). It's based on the generation of chip after the currently top-of-the-line PC chip, the x850. The current Xbox has 2 pixel/vertex shaders, for reference. The new ones are also much more capable.
10MB of embedded DRAM with 256GB/s banwidth on the graphics chip
802.11a/b/g wireless
Intergrated wireless controllers
Detachable/upgradable 20GB HD
Over 256 audio channels
It's also watercooled, so it should be very quiet. You can also change the faceplates on it to rice it up, like a Nokia phone or something.
Price is expected to be $299USD.
