Why is nothing free these days? Well, there are a lot of free things, but never the things I want! Like the sheetmusic allie wants is always hardest to find. And dress patterns. Why aren't they free? I don't want to have to pay however much it is for a piece of paper telling me how to make my garment, then pay for the yards of fabric, zips and other assorted accessories needed to make it! Is it too much to ask for something to be freee!

Yes. In a soceity basded on money anyway.

Of course, if you get a freebie, nice... but don't expect them to be offered.

The best things in life are free are the best things in life because they were supposed to cost a fortune but a lucky git gets them for nothing.

As for dress patterns... have you tried googling? I haven't, but then I'm not trying to get myself a cheap dress.

I've been trawling google for the past couple of hours, hence the rant :p

Did you Ask Jeeves? No, you didn't.

http://www.freepatterns.com

One example of 478,300 hits. Not all relevent of course.

If I've got a specific question, Ask Jeeves will get me the answer quicker than Google. Sometimes anyway.

alsieboo
09-05-2005, 23:47:21
already been there, joined up and seen the patterns sucked ass! They didn't actually have any proper dress patterns, as you'd have seen if you'd have bothered to look :p

Cruddy

1 down, 479,299 for you to go.

Happy trawling.

EDIT: How you are going to transfer a dress pattern onto tracing paper from a computer baffles me.

alsieboo
10-05-2005, 00:11:06
I'll bribe someone into buying one for me. I've narrowed it down to one person. Mother.

and anywho, getting the pattern onto tracing paper is easy. google is my friend. she tells me how to do that thing with the scales and stuff, then it's all easy as pie

Cruddy
10-05-2005, 02:34:18
Oh I SEE - you don't just want free dress patterns, you want us to post ones with designs that you like.

If I was able to read female minds, I'd be a damn sight better off than I am now.

Anyone who has had actually had the good education has a good chance of spotting a faker.

Not at the interview, maybe not for months. But eventually it will be glaringly obvious - especially in careers like medicine or the law.

But my point still stands - you cannot steal a good education.

Pretending you've got one isn't the same thing.

As for educaiton in cheating, it's just going to tell you that cheating is fine. All well and good, but you'll keep taking the risk of being found out again and again until the whole thing suddenly unravels.

But in medicine the knack is to spot the faker before your on his operating table...
