I know PYE 5 ain't even really completed yet, but...

Just curious as to whether any of you forriners would be interested in a CD of lesser known (to the rest of the world - and I have to guess which aren't known) Australian musik? Bands like:
Cold Chisel
Mental as Anything
Australian Crawl
Rose Tattoo
The Divinals
Redgum
The Angels
Boom Crash Opera
Austen Tayshus (comedian)
GANGgajang
Hoodoo Gurus
Icehouse
Pseudo Echo
The Radiators
The Screaming Jets
Spy v Spy
weddings, Parties, Anything

Most of that stuff is 80's music which I grew up with. Maybe some more modern stuff too (which may be better known o/s), like:
Grinspoon
Jebediah
Killing Heidi
Powderfinger
Regurgitator
Silverchair
Something for Kate
Superjesus

I'd go for it, but where oh where are the Celibate Rifles?

(BTW, PYE is Laz's series of CDs. You'd be after LWP9, or possibly just sending people stuff. In about an hour I'll have one ready for sendoff, and I'll probably not label it anything.)

Ah, I didn't realise PYE was Laz's thing. I don't ventur einto this forum very often. :nervous:

Oh, and Jsorense...

I'd be interested in this. It's always good to be exposed to good music that's outside the Britain-US axis.

Cold Chisel
Mental as Anything
The Divinals
Hoodoo Gurus
Spy v Spy
weddings, Parties, Anything
Silverchair

The Chills, The Triffids and The Go-Betweens were all fairly big in Britain too.

How familiar Laz?

Anyways, looks like a few people are interested. It'll take me a while to put it all together - like probably a month or so to see if I can chase down originals. Otherwise I'll have to resort to downloading mp3s and putting them in CD format, which ain't the best option.

No Saints or Easybeats though, I see.

Look, it's an example list (thus "Bands like"), ok? :p

Oh, and I figured that everyone would know the Easybeats.
