View Full Version : Geekier webcomic fan? Oerdin or Mad Monk?

We all know MM is looney for the furries and Sluggy.

But did you know Oerdin is a regular poster on comic forums? And he gets into lengthy detailed disscussions about the characters feelings and motivations.

Here is one of over 300 examples!

I'm not feeling that at all. It's possible but look how he was rather easy going about the whole vicky thing after his intial shock of seeing her in the coffee shop. His whole "I tried something and it didn't work out but at least I tried" speech kind shows he's easy going about his past and not to hung up on it. My guess is he's just shy, shy, shy when it comes to the ladies. The only time we've actually seen him make a bold move was when he was drinking but I'm sure he won't be the last guy with liquid courage.

Sensitive rock of the forum, helping out a newbie and offering his opinion.

We are not allowed to predict future comics but I imagine we are allowed to speculate upon character motivations. My take, based upon currently available information, is that Faye fell deeply in love and trusted her last boyfriend (the one her sister spoke about) but that he betrayed her trust and some how ended up harming her very badly. Now Faye has a thing about being touched without her knowing ahead of time, she's afraid of trusting men, and she pretends to be a tough girl when really she's just a normal girl who's insecure.

Do you passionatly debate the characters and motivations in the stories?

Well, there's something I will never understand. Grown ups seriously discussing cartoons.

Very true! So silly.

Other than Wile E Coyote of course.
The angst and desolation of flawed genius;)

I collect comics, not seriously discussing anything of course.

As opposed to seriously discussing The Supranos?

Actually, I could seriously happily discuss how great Family Guy is. I've really got into that recently.

Oerdin. Clearly.

The important question is whether or not Jeff is dead.

No updates on him being alive since these.

Bizarre Update #1: I have just purchased a brand new shovel.

Bizarre Update #2: Today while mowing, the transformer next to the fence blew a fuse. Upon closer examination, the lawn chair on which I was reading "Snow Crash" was directly below a power line (the power was out for nearly two hours).

Bizarre Update #3: While dragging a fallen branch out to the street (where two men who showed up to cut some branches away from the electrical wires parked their big wood chipper truck) I cut my right leg above the spider bite scar something awful.

Bizarre Update #4: My roommate Matt asked me a few days ago if I wanted to go to a to a big rugby party with him in Louisiana. I declined, stating the aformentioned reasons. Moments ago in Dallas, a man pulled a gun on Matt at a convenience store. He is fine, but we are all getting pretty freaked out.
