View Full Version : What to do, what to do?

Greg W

Well, if as expected, I lose my job in July/August, what should I do? I'll have a heap of money, and a heap of time on my hands, and no real commitments...

The aid agency is something that I'd seriously consider doing. Always wanted to do something with some meaning, helping others out.

zmama
20-04-2005, 12:50:58
I know what I'd do :D

Greg W
20-04-2005, 12:53:07
I deliberately didn't put up "waste all my money on cheap wine and drugs" for just that reason. ;)

Otherwise, please tell...

Tizzy

I agree with zmama :)

Greg W
20-04-2005, 12:56:27
Yeah, that's the problem. I either need to vote, or click on the stupid link to show results. Should have an option to allow the poll poster to informally vote!

But yes, your vote doesn't surprise me. :p

Hmm, even works as an X-Post, applied to both of you. ;)

Greg W

Allright, who voted for me to stay as far away from CGers as possible? :hmm:

Venom
20-04-2005, 13:14:19
Not me. I haven't voted yet. And I can't, because I don't see a "Build the World's Largest Vegamite Sandwich" option.

Out of 9 so far, looks that way. Mind you, one was a dud vote from me so I wouldn't have to click on the show votes option every time.

Can't you do two AND four at the same time? Camp out in some CGers house and use it as a base of operations.

Good thing she lives far away from me.

Theoretically, you could do 2 3 and 4 at the same time. Bludging off CGers doesn't mean you have to be near them. Just extort money out of them. That's the ticket!

I think chasing after a bird is a historically bad idea for 3 reasons:

On cyberspace you can lie about what you look like/do
on the back of a split its never good timing
LDR's over two separate continents are doomed to failure

Doing something for yourself is the better option becaus ethen you'll feel great and when the right bird comes along you'll be ready.

Working in an aid agency is the kind of gay altruistic stuff everyone wants to do after a split 'its for the gretaer happiness!'

Bollocks to that, I say travel the world, pester CG'ers, get drunk, and don't stop till you end up snorting coke off a whore's backside in Bangkok.

Much more constructive :D

Greg, IIRC you haven't even seen too much of Australia yet. Why don't you start there and then go visit those islands to the east where all the freeloaders come from?

Greg W
21-04-2005, 00:13:37
Hmm, so it's now 4-6-3-8. Reasonably close call really. Not that I am, like, listening to you lot. :cute:

About the aid agency thing - this isn't just a recent thing that I have started to want to do. I've wanted to do something different for a long time now. And it could be something that'd get me to travel places I'd never be likely to go on my own (such as very poor Asian countries), as well as doing something good.

However, I have also wanted to do more travelling.

Thus the quandry.

Jsorense, I have been to a greater percentage of Australia than I have been to of the world. If that makes sense. Having said that, there are a few places I still want to see, but I wouldn't count them as being mutually exclusive to travelling the world.

The option of going to West Virginia is looking less and less attractive because:
1) There's no nubile young blondes there to entice me to go, which is what it would take
2) In fact the only woman there is dark haired, scary (her words, not mine) and married to boot
