View Full Version : Evacuated from work - Fire truck!!

They sent us home early because of mysterious fumes in the building. I've been breathing them for two and a half hours.

Smelled like oil-based paint or shop degreaser to me. I thought nothing of it.

We got fire trucks and everything!!!

Maybe that was to blame for my runny nose and itching?

Anyhow, I plan on doing a little light work-related reading at home before doing nothing for the rest of the day.

Well, I will make more coffee. That's unavoidable.

 I think I have a little can of some of that stuff somewhere.

Can't remember when I saw it last.

I was clearing out an old archive here and found a can of crappy faux Lynx called "Tusk" - it was amazingly poor smelling

We just had an alarm, nearly got outside and found out that the girl in the shop next door set it off with a steamer.

Funko, that would be www.google.com

Just type in Cleveland Steamer and hit the "enter" button.

You're welcome.

I work in a small IT company that's in an office next door to a shop.

Firefighters and hazmat could not identify the odor or its source.

They shrugged their shoulders, shut down the HVAC, turned on the smoke exhaust fans (didn't know we had those) and basically sucked fresh air into the building all night long.

Its not blistering hot in my office today, which is a plus.

So obviously one of the people in the building was the source of the smell.
