Tonight I win!

We have a great little chinese place in town where they don't speak any english and have a menu of about 20 generic crappy american style chinese dishes like "general chicken"

But this place is the best to go because they also have the Authentic menu with over 400 dishes. Sadly it is only in chinese.

So, usually I go in and order one number at random, some lo mein and some white rice.

Last time I got a fish head stew.

This time I got shitake mushrooms in an oyseter sauce with beef, tofu, and something I can't identify.

MMM! I win!

There's a Chinese fast food place in Reading that has an indesipherable dim sum menu that I occasionally pick from at random.

I'm so fucking hungry. All this talk about food. I have to go and eat something.

You know you could always someone else to translate. Unless you think they're all just guessing random numbers.

I do that myself either that or I wait for the little cart to come rolling around and just pick stuff off. That's how I ended up trying the boiled chicken feet in sweet & sour sauce. Not bad but literally all skin and bone.

Usually the Chinese language menu is about half price as well so I like to bring along a few chinese friends so we can eat authentic food at half price.

BTW "General Chicken" is likely General Tso's Chicken.

Yes, generic american chinese food.

I got to this place in San Francisco and we just order by what we want: beef, chicken, etc... and they prepare it however they feel like. It's always good.

Is that the evil San Fran hinese restaurant?

The oldest something or other int eh country or the city blah blah.

It is a very good tiny Chinese restaurant that is known not only for whatever its major historical thing is but for the cruelty and rudeness of the staff.

Like the soup nazi but not on a crappy show.

Welcome to my world.

The place is called House of Nan-king, it is very small, and always has a line out the door... or, it it doesn't, will soon.

It is across the street from Coppola's place amongst a dozen other restaurants.

They have excellent veggie dishes. In fact, whenever I go, I get the onion cake as well as the fried tofu dish, and they are both excellent.

China town is cool but the slant eyed devils double or triple prices for us white folks. :(
