I saw that yesterday, it is incredible. I hardly throw any food away certainly not 1/3. How do people afford that?

Its the ammount that the wholesalers and producers throw away that is incredible! It's true that when you go into a supermarket every apple looks the same, I mean fruit doesn't grow like that.

People = retards

I must start using the local butcher and farmers market.

There's a local farmer that will deliver a box of veggies to your door every week. I believe that they are all natural shapes and colours. And organic.

Yeah, the market is about 50 yards from work though, as is the butcher. I'm just that lazy...

I know what you mean. I have all these intentions of being a environmentalist who thinks on a global scale and eats well. But I can't be arsed to campaign for anything and the convenience store round the corner is so, well, convenient.

Soon eough, the real oil crisis will make us burn rotten food stuffs again.

And it will end the current agro-system anyway. :D

Whenever I have to chuck stuff cos it's gone of I feel really ashamed.

It's not so much the cost (which is bad enough), it's the WASTE!

Worst thing is it's usually veggies or fruit I end up chucking...:(

Well, maybe you could recycle them in a compost bin.

Why this can't be done an industrial scale, I don't know. Putting that food back into the food chain might cause problems... but turning it into fertiliser might help solve a few.

What's the practice where you live then? Do you throw it out or feed it immigrant workers?

Cruddy, check out Oerdin's over-reaction to this Guiardian article. Apparently it's a communist propaganda rag. I was taking the piss a little.

Check out the web address again. This isn't a Guardian article.

EDIT: So the Guardian is Biased, the Independent is biased. Now name me a paper that is LESS biased than those 2.

I don't think I can.

Which is my point. Badly made.

So they are biased but not as much as other newspapers?
