View Full Version : How does your brain work?

Get a brain sex profile and find out if you think like a man or a woman.

or for a more simple test just look in your pants

Tizzy
15-03-2005, 14:59:22
Looking in my pants isn't going to tell me how I think.
Looking in someone else's however......

I have a 50% male and 50% female brain.

I came up with lots of words that are associated with grey which apparently makes me female, I thought it was because I can see about 15 grey things around me. Amplifier, book, joystick etc etc.

From the 3D test because I got it all correct they seem to think that not only am I very male, I must be an engineer or a scientist.

I am 25 into the male side. My brain is all over the friggin place. On some things I can't empathise for shit, on others I am a top empathiser etc.

Surprisingly I got 9/12 on the rotating objects in space which disproves DH's constant jibes that I cant rotate objects in space.

A lot of these tests are down to background I think, for instance on the one where you divide the money, I went 25/25 when I had to decide, because no one would turn that down and then we both get something, on them deciding I accepted everything because their tightness aside, I'd rather have a quid than nothing. Thats just good logic (supposedly male trait) but apparently that makes it a feminine choice. I don't get that.

Provost Harrison
15-03-2005, 21:05:21
Well I definitely came out as bloke. Shite at all the women's test (the word ones and that one where the dogs and drills move around I was absolutely bollocks at). Spatial perception, directions, etc I scored brilliantly at, but not as dense as most blokes when it came to interpreting other people. It also suggested that from my scores on some of them I must be a scientist or engineer due to my analytical mind  No shit! And I prefer the shape of female faces to male faces :D I guess it confirms what the pink sausage thing down the front of my trousers suggested previously...

I didn't really get that bit of the test. It said split it, and by all logic I would expect the other person wouldn't accept any less than half...naturally 50/50...

Tizzy
15-03-2005, 21:11:53

OK- I finished it. I got 25% on the male side, which means I'm as much of a man as Ms BigNorks and more of a man than Mr Karate Hardbastard Protein.

If somebody offered to give you 20 you'd reject it out of spite? If you reject it you walk away with nothing.

I felt that I'd accept anything above or equal to 15. I thus offered 20 as a reasonably safe proposal.

My score came out 100% male. I got perfect on the 3d rotating part and 95% on the angles part.

On the "remembring where stuff is" part I got 36% (I know I don't have a good memory for details). On the "eyes" part I got 6 out of 10. On the "words" part I came up with 3 for grey and 6 for happy.

I put the right thumb on top, but am left-handed. Odd.

Right hand ratio 0.96 left hand ratio 0.93

It says I prefer feminine faces. Duh.

As for the ultimatum, see above.

My results are dead even between male-female thinking patterns with:

Angles 19 out of 20
Spot the difference 60%
Left thumb on top
Empathy 11 out of 20
Systemizing 16 out of 20
Eyes 7 out of 10
Hand ratio .93 to .92
Faces I supposedly like masuline (but I think they're way off)
3D shapes 10 out of 12
Word association 16 & 12 (they stop counting after 10  )
For the money ultimatum I said I'd offer 50% and accept nothing less then 50%. I figure he has as much to lose as I do.

Surprisingly I got ONLY 10/12, but that's because due to sudden sluggishness on that pages, and difficulty to cope with the lag of the GUI, I only managed to see page 6 for 1 second...

Of course with a big For What It's Worth disclaimer on top, that's my details:

Angles 20/20 (M16.4, W14.7)
Differences 71% (10/14 spotted, no mistake) (M42% W57%) ...can't this just mean I'm just good at it? ;)
Hands: Left
Empathy: 5/20 (M4-12 W8-15) What??? And I'm a Betazoid! ;)
Systemising: 16/20 (M8-16 W3-12) Am I put off by strategy games???? hmmm... lemme think....
Eyes: 8/10 (the higher, the womanliker) I wanna know where I missed!
Fingers ratio: R=1 L=0.97 my R hand is female!
Faces: I allegedly prefer feminine ones. Then why do I get a boner when I see Amelie Mauresmo??? ;)
3D rotation: 10/10, 2 untested (see above posts) (M8.4 W6.4)
Words 8 & 8 (whether appropriate or not...) (M1-5, W6-10)
I find the explanation hilarious:
If you produced 1 - 5 words: You are more of the strong, silent type with a male brain. You probably find it easier to express yourself in non-verbal ways, preferring action rather than words.

Ultimatum:
equally split offer, out of intrinsic morality overriding game-theory smartness
accepting anything, why should I care what the other gets?
What's interesting, is that the general tone of this test desciption and comments present it (IMHO) as if the splitter had the power. Instead is the receiver who decides whether both get something, or nothing, and (s)he has the power!
thus this shouldn't be a test about morality or game-theory, but about the splitter ability to anticipate with his psychologic skills the receiver's reactions and attitude, and how you cam make him satisfied. For instance, I'd accept 1, and would offer 25 as nobody wold turn that down, like S_S said. Actually, if I believe the receiver is an asshole, he might even think "I have the power to make you get nothing, and that's what you'll get unless you give me 49!".
The key element is that there's no beforehand negotiation, the receiver's policy is unknown to the splitter on the moment he splits it.

Ah, I think I've reached my satisfaction point in wordiness.
What was that statement again?
If you produced 1 - 5 words: You are more of the strong, silent type with a male brain. You probably find it easier to express yourself in non-verbal ways, preferring action rather than words.
