Drekkus
02-03-2005, 11:59:53
Never heard of Zawinul Syndicate either? Good music lover you are.

Funko
02-03-2005, 12:00:28

Funko

Never listened to any jazz.

Except I have a Dave Brubeck cd.

Remembers me when in '99 a 20ish colleague said me:

"hey, I downloaded a cool song yesterday, I think it's called Wish You Were Here, do you happen to know anything about that Pink Floid group? I'd never heard them before...."

Funko
02-03-2005, 12:06:14
Is there any jazz that isn't shit?

MoSe
02-03-2005, 12:06:52
Duke's

Funko
02-03-2005, 12:08:04
Are you suggesting Weather Report are as famous as Pink Floyd? :hmm:

MoSe
02-03-2005, 12:14:02
No, I think they were as famous in Italy as say Grateful Dead or King Crimson....

I saw Weather Report live in Milan once, and IIRC it was the one time *I* was offering a joint to a friend and not the other way round :smoke:

we're talking about early '80s, AFAICR

Maryland USA, Tuesday morning

Its mostly melted now. :(

MDA

two of three

MDA

last one, all stolen from the local NBC station page because my camera uses real film

It was the nice sticky kind of snow, good for making snowballs, snowmen, and sticking to power lines and tree branches.

It even filled in the links in a chain link fence at the school across the street.

well done MDA! single-handedly bucking the trend of people with interesting weather refusing to take pictures of it.

they say it will snow again here tonight, no doubt in the middle of my five-a-side game

Fuck you, winter. FUCK YOU!

MDA

I read the earlier complaint. :)

That bit of snow was enough to close almost all the schools in Maryland. It was right at the freezing point so the salt alone kept the streets clear most places.

When I drive here I worry less about the actual weather conditions than the guy from Florida in the car next to me that's driving in white-knuckled terror at the sight of snowflakes. You just know he's going to do something stupid.

The power of your burning fro defeats all snow.

Ended up with 7 inches (about 18cm) not the 10in they were promising but plenty.

And I'll post my ucking pictures when K_G posts his Rotterdam pics

Counterglow is all about what meaning someone else applies to your post, not what you mean.

MoSe
02-03-2005, 15:23:08
CG nork buoyancy principle

To a post immersed in a forum a meaning gets applied, totally unrelated to its original meaning, and proportional to the boredom and twattiness of the displaced lurkers, multiplied by the CG constant.

Astute observation MDA.

Venom

Like, how to best cook whale meat and how far can you really punt a poodle.

Lurker
02-03-2005, 16:43:04
What kind of poodle?

Funko
02-03-2005, 16:52:03
African or European?

Lurker
02-03-2005, 16:56:22
There's a ton of literature on the physics of punting French poodles, so I assume he's talking about other breeds, but you never know with Venom.

Venom
02-03-2005, 17:32:45
You've got to run them all in controlled experiments so you can compare punting factors and corralate distances.
