Got in interview for a local secondary school in about an hour. I'm crapping myself. Don't think I've ever been this nervous about an interview before! :vom:

Well good luck...I hope the pay's alright, it doesn't sound like it would be astounding for that job...

It's not about the pay. I really want to get a foot into the IT industry and if that means starting at the bottom then I'm happy. Plus I don't have to commute for an hour in the morning so I get to see my family more.

It was more out of concern for your young family, it does strike me as there may be hard times ahead, that's all. But seriously, good luck!

Yeah, good luck (if you're still here) :)

Still here. Still pooping myself.

The salary is more than I am earning at the moment and there are also good prospects. The school is a 'Beacon School' so they have a lot of funding. A Network Manager for example could be on around 30k. I'd start off on 14,500 - and if I got the same job at a corporate company with my experience I could start off at 23k.

Money isn't an issue at all for me, job satisfaction certainly is.

If I worked at my current job for another year I'd be on +20k but I can't stand it. It's insurance. INSURANCE!!!!

Then good for you for doing something about it.

Good luck

Good lad, well I thought it would be less than that to be fair knowing what local authorities are like. But power to you, you'll get there!

You actually want to work in the IT field? I don't think anyone's said that since the late 90's.

Complete waste of time.

The job went to an internal applicant who had been working there as a temp for 2 months.

Ah, that's a shame Matt :(

* shrug * :(

Hope you stung them for loads of travelling expenses then.

Still, look upon it as practice. Or something.
