View Full Version : I have a job interview!!!!!

Wooohooooo!!!!!

Ok, so it's not the same as actually having a job...but this is the closest I've come in a long time.

It's in a club with 3am license so should fit in very well with my nocturnal hours...and who knows, eventually I may actually be able to afford to rent my own place rather than sleeping on people's floors!

This is the most excited I have ever been in my life.....wish me luck! (I have no idea wtf to say/do in a interview, so need all the luck I can get!)

Good luck!

"I have no idea wtf to say/do in a interview"

Well, there's a very instructive scene in the film "trainspotting" about that very issue....

I had a job interview on the phone like 2 weeks ago tomorrow, and they still haven't gotten back to me, and the job disappeared off the web site... I think I didn't get it. Would be nice if they told me.

It's for a park ranger position at a national monument here in San Diego. It's the spot where the first Europeans set foot in the state claiming it for Spain.

Oerdin: So you'll be gaurding a hunk of soil? Awesome, hopefully they have internet access because I think you'll be bored;)

The money sucks too; like $40k. I eventually want to get a job as a police officer since they make around 50% more with in a year of starting but the hiring process takes 10 months. I'm looking for a place holder job until that process is completed.

Not that I know of....I don't *think* it's that kind of club.

Anyway, I am off now; interview isn't until 7 but I'm not totally sure where it is so leaving early.

I'll update you all upon my return!

They do have two forester jobs open though. Pay is decent $55-$71 but you have to agree to move to an undisclosed location in 2 years. Ick, there are a lot of places I wouldn't want to live in.

Good for you. Bar tending and waitressing is hard work but as a fringe benifit you might get free booze and you will get to enjoy shooting down all the guys who will be hitting on you. ;)

protein

Nice one! Looks like a cool club too.

Bar work is easy. The hardest thing about it is learning the till system (usually about a day of scratching your head and then it's easy), hearing people over loud music (make them shout by pointing to your ears) and putting up with arrogant football fans/students (thoughtless agressive destructive vandal cunts that will make you dread any football or student related event).

It really is a piece of piss.

Don't get caught in the cocaine trap though.

Stop congratulating her until we find out if

a) She'll be topless
b) She'll hook us up with free beer
c) She won't have us tossed for picking up on the drunk chicks

My wife worked at a bar when we started dating... I was once got fed and plastered on $7

Congrats. Maybe you can put in a good word for that band that Funko is in.

Martini
10-02-2005, 01:25:15
a) They certainly didn't mention anything about going topless. They'll have to pay more than 6 quid an hour if they expect that!
b) If any of you are ever in the area, I promise free drinks
c) Drunk women are fair game for anyone as far as I'm concerned. I would actively encourage it.

Japher
10-02-2005, 01:38:15

Wow... on Saturday you have a Kerrang!! All nighter featuring a Bloc Party Album launch. Sweet.

And WWE star Chris Jericho's band Fozzy are playing... is that good?!

Might have to tap you up for gigs. ;)

The sad thing is they really are militant pot smoking commie hippies who cheat the welfare system. It is amazing.

The Irish are big drinkers too... and the Australians... come to think of it the Russians and the Germans fell into a bottle years ago and haven't come out either.
