View Full Version : Fanboyism

Oerdin

I admite to drunkenly trolling certain online comic websites but it was only to expose the blatant fanboyism found there plus I thought I could point out certain inconsistancies which the lord god had allowed to exist in his storyline but it appears that sort of rational thinking is not allowed. When you point out errors in the storyline the fanboys will attack defending all what they hold holy dispite the fact that it might make no sense. The lord god of the website will rise up in his unjustified anger to smite those who pointed out his weakness.

I truly cannot understand why a person wouldn't just say, yes, I made a mistake and I shall try to do better next time. Isn't that the goal; a better stoyline? The ego is a strange thing. Wouldn't it be better if we could all admite to our past errors and work at improving life?

Well, you could have been smited for causing trouble.

And plot holes are what they are. Logic is only a good thing as long as it favors your story. ;)

Which comic websites?

Oerdin
08-02-2005, 03:09:52
I won't mention any names but it is a web comic about indie rock. If you can't figure it out with that hint then you haven't been watching links here at CG.

what sort of inconsistencies, then?

The Mad Monk
08-02-2005, 04:55:47
Ah. That's one forum I haven't been to yet.

When I go comic foruming it's usually nightstar or keenspot. They tend to have thicker skins (if only because they both become sharktanks when they smell blood).

It would be nice if you could admit to being a habitual abuser of the spelling of 'admite.'

Sorry, but that's always bugged me, and I speel like sheet.

Or maybe you are an early example of the American spelling. Sorry if that's the case.

btw, where's the link? My old hard drive rolled over and is waving its tiny assemblies in the air. I think it's dead. Unfortunately I lost some bookmarks.

Lol I find it more sad that you would look for plot holes in a comic like QC.

It does make me wonder what plot holes he thinks he's found...

Isn't the whole point of the strip Indy-not-getting-sex-despite-living-with-her angst?

I particularly like the friend getting more than he likes when he finds out the girl won't be 18... until next Tuesday.

If Oerdin wants to have fun he should troll the pvponline or Sluggy sites. now those are some psycho fans.

And if he really wants to see insanity, he can go post on the penny-arcade site.

The Mad Monk
08-02-2005, 06:58:55
This is true. I don't stick around long on the Sluggy forums because of the despotic moderation there.

HelloKitty

I honestly have never read them. I just assumed fromt eh way that site was run they would be insane.

Pete *only* reads the reactions forum, and really has no interest in *any* forums beyond that.

Thyla runs the site, does all of the admin work forumside, and does it for free, so he gives her carte blanche on how to run things.

It actually is sad. I just noticed one and decided to troll about it on their forums late one night when I was extremely drunk. I doubt I could be assed to do so again.

If someone would come here and attack the inconsistensies in our Lord God Funko, I would attick him as well. Well, maybe I would. Or rather, there would be a slight chance. Come to think of it, i won't. I'll probably point and laugh.

Wow. Sluggy forums scary. I think those people refresh at the stroke of midnight to get the latest strips. They criticize it like its Jonathan Swift.

Vincent

Sluggy is some kind of underware IIRC

Oerdin
08-02-2005, 19:03:33
I'll have to check out sluggy's forums since I've never been there. I like the idea of trolling a forum like that sometime but I'm not sure I can be bothered.

They can be very rough on the strip. Pete's used to it now, but guest cartoonists tend to be...shocked.
