I don't want to buy crap games.
Important to me is replayability...unique platforms, something a woman would not despise....
I liked Baldur's Gate....GTA was a bit on the obscene side for me, though.

I'm not a big soccer fan....my baseball game languishes on the shelf...Liked Madden football though. I'm thinking RPG or a "milder" FPS?

I’ve heard good things about Jak and Daxter.

From k5 (http://www.kuro5hin.org/):
‘Pushing away from the overly brutal, Jay and Daxter add a nice bit of action to an otherwise lonely PS2 platforming landscape. The characters are well conceived, and the challenge (fortunately) runs much greater than your average Mario game. While beautiful, the graphics are marred by just a hint of jaggedness, reportedly due to a low in-game resolution. Don't let that keep you away from one of the most well rounded platforming games in years. Also, make sure to turn the sound up for some of the clever wisecracks.’

You can't get Pro Evo Soccer in the states or in any format that works on US PS2s. :(

Try Grand Theft Auto 3 or Metal Gear Solid 2.

Metal Gear Solid 2 is kinda like a cross between an RPG and a mild shootem up. GTA 3 is a FP game where you can do pretty much anything. If you look at the news history on the CG homepage I've linked to reviews of both.

Air Combat is good, mindless fun. Gran Turismo 3 is ok.. and it's only 20 ~$35

Deus Ex is coming out this week, I think, for the PS2.

I'm actually pretty surprised how few good titles there are for the PS2. I guess Spiderman and MGS2 it will be...although I may spring for Baldur's Gate...but I'm not sure...I've rented it a few times and I'm worried I'm near the end. I'm just at the part where you are cruising up a hill and have to kill some "force bubbles" that shoot electric charges. Anyone know how much more game is left? I think I must be just before a dragon or something.
I've also considered Kessen...anyone play this? Kessen 2 is out...is it vastly better than I?
While I liked GTA2 ok, I just thought it got a bit old after awhile...I'm sure there are tons of "secrets" to unlock...but I just like a game that is pretty straightforward and doesn't require me contorting my thumbs to unlock guys with neato hair or whatever.

I wish there were more RPG's for this system!!!!
