Anyone got it yet? I'm using Eudora but not entirely happy with it. It's a bit slow.

I moved to using Firefox as my primary browser, but I'm not too sure about moving from Outlook to Thunderbird...... there's got to be a really good reason, as I'm happy with Outlook at the moment.

(oh its free!)..

I prefer Outlook 2003, it has more features.

Thunderbird is way better than Eudora or Outlook Express though.

I use Thunderbird as an RSS aggregator though.

Fuck paying for a mail client.

MattHiggs

I wouldn't pay for a male client.

Asher

People pay for Outlook 2003?

Funkodrom
07-12-2004, 15:48:33
Isn't it part of M$ office?

Asher

People pay for MS Office?

Funkodrom

Dunno. *shrug* I don't have it or need it.

Funkodrom
07-12-2004, 15:56:12
Oh, we have it at work and that's free.

Asher
07-12-2004, 16:12:04
If you use it at work, you can legally install it on your home computer as well.

Funkodrom
07-12-2004, 16:12:37
Yes but you can't make me!!!

Really?

Would you only be able to use the software for work related purposes though?

I don't use it for work related purposes at work!

Nope, you can use it for whatever reason on one home computer, if your company has the corporate license.

I use Thunderbird...like it. Have only been using it for a few weeks, so far so good.

I think Vincent uses it too

Asher

And isn't that what really matters?

I have an older Thunderbird. My email intake is so slow that I use Yahoo web email, since there are only a few messages every week. But if it's got RSS, I might use it for that. Firefox's bookmarks slow down while loading RSS feeds.

My dad had Thunderbird 65. It was white with a red leather interior.

Wow... John was in Thunderbird 5, I thought that was the highest they went up to!

in this country thunderbird is some kind of cheap wine drunk by schoolkids

drinksmixer.com describes it as A light yellow low-quality wine which turns your lips and mouth black.

Funkodrom

Yeah, it's a disgusting fortified wine.

Venom
08-12-2004, 15:00:42
Thunderbird and Nighttrain are cousins here.

Venom
08-12-2004, 15:01:10
BTW fortified wine is a funny phrase.

Funkodrom
08-12-2004, 15:03:15
What's Nighttrain?

Venom
08-12-2004, 15:03:59
Nasty malt liquor. Poor folk drink it.

Funkodrom
08-12-2004, 15:06:42
Oh right, well about the same as Thunderbird here then. Except here it's wine not malt liquor.

Oh and so is Night Train apparently

King Cobra! Hell yeah. That's my 40 of choice. Nasty, nasty stuff. Hurts real bad the next day.

Funkodrom
08-12-2004, 15:15:42
Can you get 20:20 there? If so does it come in a 40? that'd be awesome from a mathematical perspective.

Venom

I don't think I've seen any in the stores, and I shop for a lot of alcohol.

Funkodrom
08-12-2004, 15:37:10
It might be a bit classy for you.

Venom
08-12-2004, 15:40:12
Fuck that shit then.

Funkodrom
08-12-2004, 15:44:10
Indeed.

Oh yeah...you can get MD 20:20
I saw it at Kmart last...for about $1.50

Venom
08-12-2004, 16:05:55
Dammit. I haven't seen 20:20 in a store...in well...forever. I need some I think.

King_Ghidra

that is a horrible drink, it's one of those ones that when you're young it lures you in because it looks like it will taste like a fruit drink. Tricky bastards, that was just before alcopops, wouldn't make that mistake these days.

If you can't remember why you stopped drinking it, you need some.

It now comes in a vile bright green flavor and a bright orange one, too.

I haven't tasted the stuff since all it came in was purple...oh about 8 million years ago.

MDA

I only remember purple and white "grape" MD 20/20. I guess there could have been others. That would be 1989-1990.:)
