View Full Version : The Chronicles of Riddick

Complete piece of shit.

It looks like they took all the left over sets from Dune and mixed in a few bits from Phantasomorph, stuck Van Diesel into it, and then knocked it out and gabe it a Conan style ending.

No wonder it bombed so badly at the movies. I remembered reading how the games bombed, but they still made twice as much money as the movie, easy.

Have you seen Pitch black? (Film on which Riddick is based). That's a proper classic

Yep. I love Pitch Black. That was a very good film. The "sequel", however, should never have been made. Bleah.

my cowies tell me that Pitch Black is absolutely dire...

It's a good "surviving the monster" flick.

I wasn't overwhelmed. He played an interesting character, but the movie wasn't that good.

They should do a cross over with Highlander.

Pitch black was a great movie. I thought Chronicles of Riddick was OK, but it was a terrible Telesync copy and I was half-asleep. I've heard that the DVD version has deleted scenes that make the movie make a lot more sense. I'd probably see Chronicles of Riddick 2 in the movie theatre.

I have the DVD version, with the deleted scenes. They don't help it from being a piece of crap. Might help explain the plot better... Hollywood isn't much on plot these days. But the plot is such a basic, recycled plot (SPOILER! born and prophesied saviour of the universe), that it didn't need explaining.

Bleah. I'd only watch a Chronicles of Riddick 2 if it is a prequel to #1. And leaves out every bit of #1 in all ways. ;)

Yeah, Pitch Black was surprisingly good. The film has to admit to a heavy nod in the direction of the Aliens series but I really enjoyed it.

I actually liked Chronicles, in a weird way. If Chronicles 2 actually gets made, I'll be seeing it.

And Pitch Black amuses me. Mainly because of the video store catalogue summary that included something like "an interstellar ship crashes in an uninhabitable wasteland (Coober Pedy)".

Wow. This made made very little sense. Some cool visuals and ideas and shit but really way out there plotwise. Had no similarties to Pitch Black save a few characters.

 Good one, Nills.

If only it was that funny...
