As usual, the synopsis sounds abit suspect, but the book will probably turn out to be up to the usual brilliant standard. I will be acquiring my copy sharpish. (http://www.iainbanks.net/sf10.htm)

I went to an Iain Banks talk and signing... fair play he got through two bottles of wine during his talk andf a few more glasses at the signing. I got my copy of Wasp Factory signed, although he was really there to discuss Iain M Bank's work!

Well, Adam Roberts is pretty good, and so is Alistair reynolds... but Banks is probably the best all rounder (style, story, ideas) in my opinion.

Picked up a signed copy of this in Borders the other week. Impressed so far, reminds you that the quality of writing on most sci-fi novels is average (Alastair Reynolds - Absolution Gap being the previous Sci-fi book I read)
