Can anyone tell me what this guy thought of this album? I have absolutely no idea from reading this.

Oh and if anyone else has any thoughts?

I think he said it was hard not to be impressed.

That's not much to go on though.

he gave it four out of five...I think he thinks...brilliant... but not perfect...

Of course, I should have ignored the words and concentrated on the numbers. :)

I've had this for about 3 days now, and I think I prefer it to Pet Sounds. I don't think it's as intimate/personal/emotional as Pet Sounds, but it's a lot more varied. It's VERY twee in places, and some songs (Mrs Olearys Cow for example) are basically prog. Obviously, as with all Beach Boys records, a lot of sounds and song styles sound quite innocent, naive, and basically like they were made for primary school kids to sing, but when you get over that you realise that while it's sprawling and messy in places, it sounds like nothing else.

I've had it for about three songs now...

So far, I'm pleasantly surprised.
