Just saw a link to 2000AD comic strips (http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/comics/2000adstrips/) on the Beeb site.

Such great memories!:)

Check out the DR & Quinch story - I loved those guys!

i was a big Rogue Trooper fan - loved the art style and the story concept

that, Nemesis the Warlock, Slaine and obviously above all Dredd were my favourites, but i bought 2000AD for quite a few years as a kid, really liked it

the Future Shock stories had some great concepts

First issue I bought was issue 46. My mother confiscated it because she thought it was too scary.

I'm not alone!:)

Slaine, Rogue Trooper, the ABC Warriors, Dredd and Judge Corrie, I miss them all.

Did anyone here read "Action"? It was the ancestor of 2000AD. Now that was a comic- there was a major scandal about it.

Ahhh..Action, violent and racist (although no more than most of the 'War' comics at the time).

Always liked Hook Jaw...a more violent (if that's possible) version of Shako...especially the episode when the Cliff Diver jumps straight into his mouth.

There is a site devoted to it...

Action was ever so slightly before my time, but I did also collect Starlord (Strontium Dog, Robusters - which originated Hammerstein from the ABC Warriors) and Tornado (Blackhawk and Wolfie Smith) before they were absorbed into 2000AD

I also collected Battle and continued to do so till it became the shitty Battle Action Force - three of my all time favourite comic strips were in Battle: Charlie's War, Johnny Red and the awesome Darkie's Mob!

As for 2000AD, there have been so many brilliant stories - too many to choose from really!

I'll have to think about it... ;)

Someone should do an on-line personality test- "Which classic 2000AD character are you?".

I'd like to end up as Chopper, but I'd settle for Slaine.

Something like this (http://quizilla.com/users/oddboy/quizzes/Which%202000AD%20character%20are%20you%3F/)?

You are Robo-Hunter Sam Slade!

I also appear to be Sam Slade - though you can pretty much pick whoever you want to be just be reading the choices...

The Chopper series where he ends up dying is one of the greatest strips I've ever read- rivalled only by the Hugo Tate strips in "Deadline".
