Is it worth the 8 bucks + shipping and will it run on XP?

It will run XP, any recommendations/scathing criticism?

How about some deafening silence instead? :)

I played the demo of the original, that was quite fun.

I got confused by the demo, but I didnt have a joystick then though.

I think Beta1 played it and liked it...

yeah I like it, the whole backstory is cool and when you see the big freighters come thundering out of the L-points with all their fighters its pretty impressive.

Also the amazingly complex map with things orbiting other things orbitting other things.

The combat gets pretty mad, especially when you disengage the main drive spin sideways and strafe a capitol ship while flying sideways at a couple of hundred of meters a second.

for 8 bucks its a steal.

It was quiet for a long time, in CG terms. :(

It might be a steal, that's a price on Amazon "used". I can't even get it from Francogrames/Atari.

TMM: The silence is deafening. *That's* original! :p

I just finished Freelancer. Gets a little boring after the short story is over and you've upgraded to an ubership, but it was OK for 15 bucks. The Star Wars mods are nice.

I fucking hated I-War 1. Though that is irrelevant.

Irrelevance has never stopped any of us from posting.
