Hmmm, or more precisely I want to get rid of Explorer and get an alternative browser - what are your suggestions?

Mozilla. Opera is good but Mozilla is better. So far I haven't had a bit of trouble.

But don't get rid of exploder...some idiots still make pages that will only work on IE

Mozilla is pretty good. It still has some bugs though, so if you want a dependable interface then go with Opera. Opera also requires a lot less installation, because it has built-in most of the features that Mozilla has as extensions. Other than those 2 things, Firefox is the better browser. I have no idea about the mail clients, I don't use them.

Firefox is Mozilla with nicer toolbars, and without the mail/news bound into the same running process. Thunderbird is nice too, though Pan is perfect for usenet.
