Free of course?
Windows MP is totally cocked up on my PC and I'm just sick of trying to fix it...it's really screwed up...won't start at all.

Who makes a cool/good alternative for free download?
CD Player is pretty boring. :)
Thanks!

I think winamp was quite cool, but these days it suffers from featuritis - like so many gimmicks (ICQ for example)

Thanks for the tip...I'll give it a shot.
I keep getting an "internal error" message when I try to start WMP--though I've loaded it anew and installed...I think (and of course I know next to nothing about code) that the desktop shortcut might be pointing to a malfuntioning or previously deleted program file...?
I'm wondering if my Spybot killer program may have listed a WMP file as spyware and I destroyed it without looking at the whole list of programs to delete or something.
When I chose 7.1 to DL for WMP (I have 98SE) it seemed to give me version 9 anyways...aaargh.

Winamp 5 is nice for audio. I use BSPlayer for video, though it's buggy. I think that Winamp does video as well.

As for WMP, if you have 98SE, then 9 should work. I say "should" because 98 is easy to hose. I have manged to break many times during normal use.
