I'm looking for some recommendations in Trance music. Mainly softer, progressive trance. None of the hard stuff, though I am open to suggestions. I was really into Trance a year or two back, I used to go to all the big clubs Gatecrasher, Creme et al.

I really love the song like PPK Ressurection and am looking for more of this style, any help?

Some other songs I like:

Paul Oakenfold - Southern Sun
Trancehead - Set You Free
Mark Norman - Return To Eden
Headz Up - Bring It Down
Mark Aurel - Running

Can we move this thread, isn't this forum supposed to be about music?

I knew I'd take a few cheapshots for starting a thread on Trance, go ahead laugh, laugh all you want :D

Squarepusher is a good trance artist. Try Budakhan Mindphone.

I used a track from Chilled Ibiza by 'The thrillseekers' called something like 'Synaethsia' for my presentation a couple months back.
If anyone knows of other artists doing stuff like this please post as I think it would be fun having a go at doing some using fruity loops.

I like hardcore trance, but none of that happy hardcore shit. It's too happy for me.

Only Trance I own is Distance to Goa 4. It's got a cool case semi transparent flourescent yellow with a hologram.

I love to listen to trance when sobering up after a night out, progressive/ambience trance. It's great!

We always used to go out to trance clubs and listen to indy schmindy when we got in to chill out. I think... I can't really remember.

22-03-2002, 15:08:18
Yep, I used to do that too. All the big clubs round here are trance clubs. But then I found Oxford Street, and there are some great places, very popular, that play indie all night! :D

O - A - Sis.....O - A - Sis.....O - A - Sis

What does everyone think of their new single anyway? I like it, kinda evolved but sounding a little more like their old stuff. There is a riff in there from on of their older songs, can't remember which song though.

I haven't heard it yet but they quite often recycle riffs.

Indie clubs on Oxford Street?

Hmm, clubs that play indie music. :D

Like which?

And don't you dare say Rockworld. :D

23-03-2002, 14:40:15

Rockworld, the music is ok (punk) but the sound system is the worst I have ever heard!

I'm thinking more along the lines of Copperface Jacks, 5th Avenue(not sure whether that is on Oxford street now  )

No, it's on Princess Street. I'm going there tonight I think.

What were you doing up at 6am? Even I went to bed at 5... :)

I have just picked up a 6-CD compilation of trance from the HMV sale for 6.99. You might want to see if it is available in M/c.

I have a couple of Tunnel Trance Force mix cd's I downloaded from Audiogalaxy. Would anyone happen to know where I can get playlists of these cd's?

12-04-2002, 15:01:42
The Rising Sun Tut 'n' Shive in Reading is advertising a Dark Wave Goth Trance night. :hmm:

12-04-2002, 15:04:34
I doubt they themselves have a clue about what that means.

12-04-2002, 15:06:46
I don't either but it sounds good.

Colon, try this:

You only like a small bit of Trance from what it sounds like.

LR, I found playlists aplenty. Thanks.

NLT, I don't know so much about trance, but I like the stuff I hear on the tunnel trance force mixes I have (hardtrance?) and goatrance as well. (got a couple of cd's of a friends that made me enthusiastic)
