Just watched deliverance again. I can't believe how brilliantl the film is. It seems to run in real time almost and the dialogue sounds almost completely ad lib. The actors seem to struggle with their surroundings and instead of considering a trip or fall an outtake, they managed to encorporate their struggles into the film. It all flows so naturally. Maybe I'm tired but I was blown away by its genius.

'Deliverance' is one of those films that I won't watch for a second time because I'm scared that it won't live up to my memory of its brilliance. I saw that it was just about to start, and deliberately avoided it. I did watch the 'Batman and Robin' trailer that was on just before: not exactly a good advert for a film, but then I understand that it's not that good a film, so it's probably creating the correct impression.
