It's being targetted for next year. It's based on the original's graphics and gameplay systems, with some tweaks. The story takes place 5 years after the events of the original game, and probably involves some Sith Lords. The game is being developed by Obsidian Entertainment, which is a new company that employs some old, highly qualified RPG developers. Their staff have worked on Fallout, Baldur's Gate, and Planescape: Torment. I haven't played any of those, but I hear they're good.

It sounds a lot like what the move from Jedi Knight II to Jedi Knight III was. Similar game, but with a new story and some new characters. The difference is that this is an RPG, so the story and characters are the important parts. Sounds promising to me.

I want to bring my character back. He's a bad ass!

I shouldn't have taken 8 levels of scoundrel. Now I'll never be an uberjedi.

Yes, but at that level of scoundrelness you're just 3 levels shy of Han Solo.

Which Han Solo? The guy that just shot Guido, or the one that finally slapped leather after Guido tried to shoot him?

Not forgetting that Obsidian are doing the charactrers/story, so there should be some goodness coming from there...

... although yet another bout of amnesia isn't exactly wanted...

My character just got over his amnesia yesterday. I totally didn't see it coming. :o

No, me neither. I just expect all my RPG characters to be naturally godlike beings who can develop l33t skillz beyond the scope of mere mortals in a matter of weeks:).

Wow. Plague is just awesome. Calo was such a pain to take down playing light side.

Going back to finish the light side game soon.

I started a Dark Side game a while ago, but I don't think I've waited long enough after playing the Light side game. I know what's going to happen, unlike when I replayed the NWN campaign. Plus, I hate playing evil characters--it's so hard not to do the right thing!

Darker in tone than the original, The Sith Lords will pick up five years after the first game's conclusion, with players slipping on the robes of the galaxy's last Jedi. They will have to travel to seven different worlds in their efforts to defend the now-turmoil-plagued Old Republic against the machinations of the Sith Lords. Several characters from the original KOTOR will return in the sequel, although LucasArts did not say which ones specifically.

Didn't they already cover the "last Jedi" plot 30 years ago?

Yes, but all it takes is one to breed thousands more.

Nope. Just a bit of mind control.
"You want to bear my children." "I want to bear your children."

"You do not want me to call you in the morning." "What, are you crazy? You'd better call me! And send me flowers! And take out the garbage on your way out, light dagger boy!"

Don't you even sully the name of Solo by talking about that Special Ed...ition bullshit.

I'm in a similar boat, I keep not playing so I'll forget it, but everytime I remind myself not to play it, I think about all the awesome parts of the game and ruin it.
