Do geeks have a patron saint these days?

Never ever heard of him. And I was brutally forced into Catholic mass until the age of 13 or so.

Catholic Forum, is that where the soccer moms hang out?

Drekkus

Nope. The line roughly runs along the river Maas. South of it is catholic.

Vincent

I think cathiliciszischim has many pros.

1) Confess -> Sin gone (yay!)
2) Pope -> Old twat/God like creature (pick one).

Quote: "catholichism is cool. But the pope sucks so bad i pissed in his shoes. But hey, I confessed "

Drekkus

Plus they have better looking churches.

Vincent

But the old gobbledegook sounds better in latin...all incence-y and dark and mysterious.

Jesus was jew, we catholics can't possibly make him God

But for a dutch to become your King (or Queen) he has to believe in prottestand religion, no?

paiktis22
04-04-2005, 16:30:53
(I know it's horribly stated...)

Drekkus
04-04-2005, 16:37:16
It's not that anyone can apply to that job. The royal family is protestant, yes. They fought off they evil catholic spaniards.

paiktis22
04-04-2005, 16:39:31
That was used as an argument by those who are against the separation of church and state in Greece (where church and state are not separated)

Drekkus
04-04-2005, 16:53:51
what argument, fighting off the spaniards?

paiktis22
04-04-2005, 17:00:48
:D

No, that one has to be protestant to be the king of Holland. In pararel to that one has to be orthodox to be the president of Greece.
Although to be sure I have to ask you straight out: is there any obstacle, in law or tradition, that would prohibit someone to become king of Holland if he isn't protestant?
Very specific question, maybe you don't know. Worth a shot :)

Funko
04-04-2005, 17:02:45
It's interesting here, because the king or queen is the head of the church of england they kind of have to be...

Funko
04-04-2005, 17:03:07
Sorry, I was wrong. that isn't interesting.

Drekkus
04-04-2005, 17:03:57
No, no obstacle. But you have to be a member of the royal family to be King or Queen of Holland. And the royal family is protestant.

paiktis22
04-04-2005, 17:04:01
To that ex leftist turned neo-orthodox "defender of tradition" I'm sure it would be. He's the one who used that argument about Holland on TV.

For a royal, she's not bad. Plus she's argentinian, a bit more warm blooded then the stiff corpses of the rest of the family.
