It looks like Google's released its new look.

Discuss.

What's changed?

The international sites might not be changed yet. I noticed it by searching from Firefox's Google search box, which uses the .com address.

I just followed your link and it looked the same to me.

I had a lot of difficulty with google yesterday at home. It froze every time I clicked a link, of after clicking through a site. I checked for a virus or a trojan, but nothing came up.

The little blue background to the "web" "images" "groups" etc tabs is gone. Then when you do a search the header is slightly rearranged.
The image search page has quick-links to search for different image sizes (presumably because that was the primary reason why anyone used the advanced image search). The frame for an individual image result has changed and has the added reminder that This image may be subject to copyright. Which I believe was not there previously.
The page for groups searches has changed in the same subtle way as the others, and Froogle has been upgraded from beta (or non-frontpage at least) status and linked to from the front page. (at .com at least)

The google logo on search results pages is now one image, rather than four interlocking ones.

Oh... so basically it looks the same as before.

I've got to admit that I noticed.

I never go to the google home page, there's a little google search box in opera. Doesn't look like a big change to me. In fact I never would have noticed it.

Froogle is new (to me) I don't remember seeing it before anyway.

Google.com forwards you to an international mirror, so you don't actually see its front page. I'm trying to find the link that will take you there, but the site I got it from before seems to be /.ed.

I notice some slight changes. Maybe they're trying for an even more stripped-down look. :)

You left "thingy" off the end of that.

I noticed the chages. It looks a very slight amount more subdued on the search result page. Froogle is nice, used it for the first time today, was very effective in helping me track down FileMaker Pro for a cow-orker.

Unfortunately froogle is absolutely useless if you live anywhere outside the US.

I like the image sizes thing. Didn't notice that when I checked over the changes before. Seems to have been streamlined so that "Wallpaper-Sized" is now "Large", "Large" is now "Medium" and everythig else is "Small". Good, 'cause the first two are the only ones you use anyway.

Unless you're looking for avatars.

That's what graphic programs are for... to shrink down pics to make avatars out of.

Getting a good 40x40 image out of a wallpaper is fairly difficult. With emoticon-sized images it is impossible - you have to draw it pixel by pixel. I find that finding small images that are deliberately small images (rather than shrunk big images) is often much more useful than finding large images and shrinking them.
