have been busily disinfecting my machine from an attack of adware - a new version of c2.lop that had got past spybot.

While I was at it I found a process running called ante wait amen.exe

Cant find out what it is - doesnt seem to stop anything happening when killed so it has been and it originating exe binned.

Not a virus or adserver I can identify, but equally not part of windows or any of my software as far as I can figure.

Of course I might have just removed part of adaware or spybotS&D!

Anyone know what the hell it was?

Apparently it infects the machines of those that download hard core porn :D

Speaking of spy-ware and stuff. I have both spybot and ad aware, and run them on occasion. ZoneLabs brought up a window ad for their spyware removal, on my PC recently, and offered a free scan (not removal) of my PC from the net. Gave it a try and it found stuff the other 2 had left behind !

Mmmm to pay for something that appears better, or stick with the free ones ....

I think I may put up with the ones the other 2 miss for now.

Well, if the free ones miss something, they'll eventually get around to getting them if other products show it. ;)

You know, every time I put SpybotS&D on a new machine, I give the Spybot team $5. I think that's a fair payment for "freeware" that is useful.
