Just a test, and a serious one. Please vote in this poll

Where would "I might buy from them if they put out something I was interested in," or "Only bargainbinned games" go?

I'm the same as Rachel, if they put out an interesting game I want I'll buy it.

Yep. Need an option for: "I'd never buy either of those wankers a beer but if they somehow made a good game I'm not too proud to pay money for it either."

You people are just optimists.

Can you honestly imagine them putting out a game that was interesting, playable, bug-free and reasonably priced?

I can't.

I can't.

Like the civil war games you mean?

Judge every game by its merit, although I'm quite sceptical after Civ 2.01.

Fell down on the "interesting" criterion for me.

If they'd done a European one I would have bought it but I didn't so I guess I agree with you.

If a game interests me, I'll buy it, no matter who's behind it.

I don't intend to, but I might screw up.

How original of me, I might have read the thread before responding :)

Gettysburgh was OK, I bought that for 10 EUR. The SimGolf softwarey is OK for 10-15 EUR, I think.

If they reform Looking Glass I will buy.

I have never bought a game from either Sid Meier or Firaxis.

If the future direction of their games will include things like the aborted Dinosaur game, or SimGolf, I can't see myself buying anything that lame anyway, despite how well-programmed it may or may not be.

Given the quality of their product so far, and their customer service re: getting patches out and admitting their own mistakes, I am wholly unimpressed.

I voted "no views", but "I just don't give a damn" would probably be closer to my actual feelings.
