Of the one's I listed "Fish" would be the most ROTFLOL.

Hmmmm. Okay. I think you recommended the book and that turned out to be a good choice, so I'll try "Fish". :)

Let's see.

Back to school-filled with Rodney one-liners, still a hoot.

Revenge of the Pink Panther-Seller's Cheif Inspector is never better.

Duck Soup-Marx Brothers classic that still holds up, filled with zany antics and one off gags.

I'd have to think of more, but those jump out right now.

'Airplane'
'Young Frankenstein'
'MPatHG'

The best sight gag of all time is in 'A Night in Casablanca' by the Marx Brothers.

As a wild card, I would suggest 'Caddyshack'.

The Producers
Young Frankenstein
Blazing Saddles

Mel's three classics

You really have to see the last two uncut, TV ruins them.

Plus BS is not politically correct, a lot of humor in it isn't allowed anymore in our over-sensitive society.

Much as I liked the Pink Panther series, I like Sellars best in The Party. The Magic Christian was pretty good too. Others that haven't been mentioned yet:

Support your local Sherriff
Saving Grace
Sleeper
Brother from another planet
Monty Python's stuff
Chicken Run and all the rest of that claymation guy... Hardman? Ardman? stuff.

Darker humour...
Dr. Strangelove
Catch 22

Believe it or not, Finding Nemo is pretty funny...but as you have kids, I'm sure you've seen it.
All those Pixar type movies are pretty funny.

Freddy Got Fingered.
Baseketball.
Happy Gilmore.
Schindlers List.

Chris

Schindler's List is funnier then Happy Gilmore, yet there isn't a funny moment in the picture.

My favorite comedy is easily Monty Python's Meaning of Life.

Galaxy Quest was more clever than funny, but certainly amusing.

One more vote for Life of Brian, though.

Top Secret, the slightly ruder version of the airplane! films, set in WWII, is pretty darn funny.

The only film in which I was quite literally rolling about in the aisle was "Clockwise".

Life of Brian is also really good.

When my son was 4 or 5, his teacher started slipping in "christianity" into what was supposed to be non-religious schooling. It got to the point where my lad was quoting things that "Jesus" was supposed to have said.
In order to combat this, I let him watch "The Life of Brian" and explained to him that Jesus' full name was Brian Jesus and that the film was all about his life and what he got up to.

Obvioulsy he now has a more fully balanced view.

Has Monty Python and the Holy Grail been mentioned yet?

It's not funny really if you've had say 15 years worth of geeks repeating key phrases from it endlessly, but if you haven't seen it before, it's pretty good:).

And then you can spend the next 15 years quoting it to other losers:).
