Super hero based.

I'd love it if it wasn't online. Shit! All the games I'd like to play are not available in single player it seems...

09-02-2004, 06:22:05
Single player sucks these days.

Online non FPS non warcraft type games have opened my eyes to a better world of gaming.

13-02-2004, 19:04:44
Whatever...there is still a large market for people who don't have the time for MMORPG's. If they were smart, they'd design for both options.

13-02-2004, 19:07:23
i don't think there's any shortage of single player games out there...

i expect there are more games available now than there have ever been in the history of ther world

How astute.

Well BGH since from what I read CoH is going to be instanced like the next to last expansion of EQ they are really catering to the people who have less time and the casual gamer by taking out the competition with the hardcore.

Basicly rather than being in one persistant world 100 percent of the time, there will be a persistant world, and then when you or your team (friends or random people you group with) want to go out and do something a temproary zone will be created for you.

So, its nice for people who cannot play all the time and you don't have to worry about the one asshole sitting farming one place for weeks on end that you need something from.

14-02-2004, 11:58:54
KOTOR and X2 sound like good single player...

16-02-2004, 18:36:34
Ah...see that sounds like a good idea, KittyKat.
What are the subscription rates like and can my shitty dialup handle games like these?

16-02-2004, 18:38:32
Oh, and will you be my sidekick?

I'm thinking we could be Pink Lady with superpowers!!!

16-02-2004, 19:02:22
I played EQ, UO and AO on dialup for a while (read 2 years+) and at least on EQ I was a character that lag meant death. Only gets to be a problem when yo try to do something really big like in EQ where there are 100 or more people in once place trying to time things just right and coordinate with each other.

The subscription rates are not released for city of heroes yet. But most of these games are between 12 and 15$ a month. Once you get into them it saves you alot of money because I have been keeping my EQ account and one other game active at a time and only get other games as gifts, where before I bought a game or two a month.

If you preorder CoH you are supposed to get a spot in the final beta, but unless you like super buggy games its best to wait till a few weeks after release.

If people want to we can make a CG superhero team! YAY!

21-02-2004, 19:29:35
What about Pink Lady you bitch!!!???!!!

22-02-2004, 02:55:23
May as well. ALl my toons in EQ are pink anyway.

23-02-2004, 16:33:19
I'd consider it if I wasn't on dial-up. Saw the pre-order box in EB on Friday, looked interesting.

I did notice that the cartoon women on the front of the box suffered from the same affliction cartoon women the world over have suffered from forever: giant norks. What is it with comic book artists other than they're all 47-year old virgins who still live at home with their mother? Or is that enough?

23-02-2004, 23:40:47
lol. Anyone else remember how SWG justified making a boob size slider?

They made apoll that anyone could enter anon and click that they were male or female and if they wanted to be able to have bigger boobs in the game. It was amazing how many "women" were interested in the game and huge boobs on their toons.

24-02-2004, 19:14:13
I don't know what a toon is, but if it's got a giant rack, gimme!!!

I'll be the one sitting down. Superpowers: sideways pussy, chopsticks of Death and mouth covering super-giggle!

25-02-2004, 08:11:50
Yep. all "toons' have giant racks in MMORPG worlds.

25-02-2004, 16:08:33
Interestingly enough, the male 'toons don't seem to sport tree like phallus', do they?

FFXI is a noteable exception

26-02-2004, 19:24:55
Yeah but FFXI looks and plays like shit.

26-02-2004, 20:45:59
what an incredible surprise to find that you weren't able to resist a pop at it

enjoy your cold dark games forum dickwad

26-02-2004, 22:07:50
*firm, manly forward facing hug*

26-02-2004, 23:13:52
lol thats a little sensitive there KG :p

Its not my fault that I find FFXI to be the worst MMORPG ont he market. Its the programmers fault for making it that way.

Anyway, back to CoH

Gamespy has articles on the game this week. Friday will be a demo of the character and costume generator.

27-02-2004, 00:13:53
Ohh, screen of the blue balls power.

28-02-2004, 17:37:39
If anyone has that power, it's you!

29-02-2004, 03:10:09
Ahh more good news too. There are no level limits for grouping because of the sidekick system. So if some of us play and become uber the low level noobz like you can still group with us and it won't hinder us.

02-03-2004, 01:44:16
GTA3 and GTA: Vice City are good single-player games. I read that True Crime: Streets of LA is due soon on the PC as well. What has me interested in True Crime is that unlike GTA, there are lasting consequences for being good or bad.

02-03-2004, 05:25:18
Wow. Deacon completely off topic.

BWAHAHA! Preorder beta starts next monday and open beta in a few weeks.

23-03-2004, 21:09:42
The reason comic book character females have huge melons... makes it easier to tell which are the girls and which are the guys. You loose a lot of the basic proportions which tip people off when you muscle up both in a group. Or so says the art teachers...

I saw CoH's pre-order boxes down in BB when I was in there this past weekend. Another online game? I've already been given a year's worth of time on SWG and I have zero motiviation to try that out... I just cannot put in the time right now into a MMORPG.

24-03-2004, 07:04:47
Still in SWG? I play a very little now. Its improved amazingly, but hell, for 5$ I will try this out a few weeks and cancel my preorder if its crap.
