Well, according to a couple of the actors that starred in the mini-series, their options in their contracts were exercised literally within the last minutes before the deadline. There is supposed to be a full 23 episodes optioned.

Good news for the 2 people in America that watched the series and liked it.

The new mini series? Or the announcement about the new series?

The miniseries wasn't anything to get excited about. Same old, same old. It's called Battlestar Galactica for marketing reasons, because the story and characters have little to do with the original story. It reminded me of that lizard series "V" as much as BG.

I can't believe that this took a year to appear on free to air TV down under. I guess we must be more backwards than I ever realised.

Having just watched the mini-series intro (aka the first two two-hour shows), it was pretty good I thought. A few plot ideas that I wasn't too keen on, like giving away one of the cylon models at the end of the second show, but I still liked it enough to keep watching it for a while.

The audience knowing that that person is a Cylon is essential to the rest of the series. It would be completely lame if they tried to hide it.

I have a feeling she's a "sleeper", and is probably going to struggle with emotional attachments to humans, and not want to follow her cylon heritage. Which I suppose would make it sensible to show us now...
