Nice review in the traditional Venom style.

I am quite minded to buy this. Any info on the minimum spec? (I wonder if it will run on my parents' machine)

Specs are fairly steep. I can't remember them off the top of my head, but it's something like a 400 or 450. When I get home I'll look at the box, the game's web site is unfortunately devoid of any useful information.

Awesome review! Couldn't care less about the game, but that review rocks!

I think Venom should be a professional reviewer. Seriously.

Venom,
Your unique style is perfect for game reviews.
I am, surprisingly, looking forward to many more.

A very very fun review, with all the important details as well.

Overall I give this review an A. Even if you just read the graphics bit, you MUST read this review.

Venom, if I hadn't just installed the game last night on my NEW! computer, I'd be running out to buy it right now. Great review.

I was actually browsing a MoH fan site and there was a link from their news page to your review!

Unfortunately family stuff has kept me from being able to really play it yet. :( maybe later.

This thread is getting a whole lotta hits from "guests."
It looks as though the link is working.
I wish they would register and leave some thoughts about the Venom and his review.

And Venom, all of those threats and insults from me aren't my fault, Bossman made me do it.

I can guess their thoughts about me. I hope they like the review at least.

So what are the minimum specs?

Good review btw.

When the shells are falling, the screen shakes more than Chunk doing the Truffle Shuffle, but the sound of the explosion is more like Andie playing the piano.

LMFAO :D

Ok. I can't remember off my head but they're not too steep. Something around a 400Mhz. Average graphics card and 64MB of ram should be playable. Maybe a little more than that.

Reviews like that reinforce the feeling that I have no writing style :)

Nice one! The devil bastards at Sierra line is still my favorite - the Chunk line sounds like Dennis Miller, which is also good. :hmm:

I have no idea :hmm:

Just got this from my wife for my birthday (she's mine, I saw her first!). She got it repackaged at EB (lame, but smart).
She said it was a steal. I asked her if cops caught her and maced her ass. She didn't think that was funny, so I guess I'll have to make her read the review.

The explosions are shitty, especially in the last mission. The Sniper Town Mission was a bitch... sit there for 30 seconds scanning inch by inch (I'm playin 1600x1400 on a 21" Trinitron) and it's still hard to see the snipers with binoculars, then when you find one, whip out your rifle, as once you reach a certain range (practically anywhere on the map they can see you), they will shoot you, but there is some limit thankfully. It just takes forever and is damned tiresome. Now snipers aren't exactly a dime a dozen, especially good ones... and these can hit you running, jumping, and as Venom said from behind corners with magic bullets. To top it off, you can't lean around corners in SP, only in MP, but the enemy can lean around corners, better yet, he can stick his magic rifle out and shoot the shit out of you without you being able to do so much as hope to shoot the gun out of his hand and hope it falls where he has to come out into the open to pick it up.

Ran fine on my old p3 533 with 256 ram and a gforce 2/ 64meg pci card... though thats all in the garbage bin now.

The graphic details really don't change much from high to max (even though there is like three settings btw them in some instances)... plenty of the shit is for show. They need bigger explosions. I mean WTF? I blow up a tank and all I get are a couple of sparks and some smoke... and get this.... people fucking come out the tank and start shooting my tank with fucking pistols. Now, I'm no rocket scientist, but I think if a couple of fucking rounds of tank ammunition hits a tank, if you survive, your probably deaf, dumb, and bleeding from the ears.... not exactly ready to mount the almighty counter offensive with the pistol.

are you questioning the realism of a computer game which lets you single-handedly storm omaha beach?

what's the point?

Obviously MOHAA is nothing like 'real-life' and no game that casts one individual as a a hero will ever be realistic.

no there are other people, just they are getting shot... you just happen to be one of the lucky ones that can tell god to put you right back were you were before you got shot so you can try not to get shot again. :)

Gamers will be in trouble if the A.I ever learns how to work the 'save/reload' menus:).

hahahaha yeah.... I'm surprised Sid hasn't encorporated that to cheat for the AI as a feature, coming up with some bullshit excuse about military planning or some bs. ... oh wait, that would involve actually adding code to the game, not just slapping new graphics over the engine, so that won't happen.
