Well Eidos has officially announced Championship Manager 5. As most of you know Eidos and Sports Interactive parted ways after chopping up the Championship Manager property, so this one's being developed internally, like a baby or maybe a tumor, by the newly created Beautiful Game Studios.

Here's the story (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/sports/championshipmanager5/news_6087186.html), straight from the bastard's mouth.

Fine, just let me get it out of the way myself.

Pity post.

Oh you're in for the mocking now. They've made a lot of soccer games, and with soccer often times being called the Beautiful Game it's kind of like a double entendre. They make games about the Beautiful Game but the games are also beautiful. I'm putting too much thought into this.

You're putting too much typing into your thoughts, too.

...but don't stop.

Unfortunately their motivation is for the love of the money not the love of the beautiful game.

Any word on what Sports Interactive is going to call their franchise?

Free Agent. It's going to be published by LucasArts.

Actually that's a complete lie.

interestingly if you read the press release on the eidos site they mention that www.championshipmanager.co.uk will launch on 1st February.

However the link leads straight to SI Games, who apparantly are making an announcement in 11 days. :)
