...seeing as the other thread is about to turn into "hey, track x is generic whiny emo and must be Iain's, and track y is homophobic racist rap and must be Johan's"...

I think I've spotted two of the connections, one of which is quite obscure.

Mine's an excuse for a connection.

My connection is pretty easy to spot.

BigGameHunter

Connection? Mine is so general it ends up being obscure.

Mr. Bas

Mine is fairly easy to spot as well. I think.

Funkodrom

I think I know both Mr Bas's songs and the connection.

I honestly hope that BGH's connection isn't as obvious as I think it might be.

I've also got guesses for Ghidra's and Debaser's connections.

And Eklektikos's.

I've currently got two connections for my tracks. I'm still undecided about which is the least tenuous.

So that you can make the most tenuous connection the one you use?

Scabrous Birdseed

Well, two of the songs I recognise have got a reasonably obvious connection, and for various reasons I think one of them might be Debaser's. Can't think of a second one for them though.

I doubt I'll even bother with that angle of the thing and just review the fuckers...maybe I'll guess the contributor, if I'm feeling particularly ambitious.
But if you think I'm going to hyper analyze "you know, the guy who produced this album used to drink lattes at the shop that the drummer from this song worked at while an undergrad" type stuff...forget it. I don't have nearly enough free time for such detecting.

But your hint about my songs are that they have nothing in lyricl, musician or producer in common...their commonality is extremely general.

Debaser

Is it a geographical connection?

Scabrous Birdseed

Oh. Then I didn't get BGH's connection. Or maybe I still did.

Gramercy Riffs

My songs have lots in common.

They are both songs...they are both on LWP........erm.......er..........

My connection is quite obvious I think. Though the most obvious connection is not "it".

BigGameHunter

Maybe I'll listen to mine again and come up with something strikingly clever and subtle. Something about pentameter or so forth.

There's this one song on CD2 that has me rolling in hysterics every time I hear it.

BigGameHunter

Why, did the guitarist hit an upbeat instead of a downbeat when it obviously should have been in 1/4 time?

Scabrous Birdseed
21-01-2004, 16:35:03
It involves a sudden and rather unexpect outburst of pretension. Or possibly insanity.

Scabrous Birdseed

I've decided that if people come up with a creative enough connection between my two tracks I'd be stupid to deny them the point. As long as you pick the right tracks and come up with a fun motivation you're all right.

"These are Scabby's and the connection is that he chose them to piss me off."

Scabrous Birdseed

Oh yes, the paranoia connection. Always a good'un.

Sean

I think my connection is pretty damn obvious, although one track is probably a lot more well-known than the second.

King_Ghidra
22-01-2004, 17:02:59
basically i'm sure all the connections are obvious if you know the song name and the artist name. Sadly i only recognise about 5 tracks so i'm fucked if i can guess any of the connections.

Eklektikos
22-01-2004, 17:58:55
That should be no barrier to guessing the connection between my tracks at least, although disbelief that anyone would bother with such a banal link might be.

If Debaser's connection is the one I think it is, certainly not. :)

Plus there are several other connections that are either lyrical, thematic or musical. Like the fact that two songs are quite obviously by the same artist.
