can I submit anything for the next one? How obscure must it be? What rules are there, and what else would be expected of me?

wait for the LWP7 thread and all the rules and other crap will be revealed there.

or there will probably be a discussion thread for the format of lwp7 that you can contribute to and help determine some of those things anyway

Submit whatever you like. A lot of us are trying to introduce people to new music, but there's no rule of enforced esoterica.

The only real commitment is the reviews- we expect you to review every track.

I've contributed one track that subsequently reached #2 on the british (and dutch) singles charts.

"Turn Me On" by Kevin Lyttle. I seem to recall you kinda liked it.

It made such an impression on me that I can't even remember it...

I remember it. Mostly because it was played non-stop in the common room for about 3 months. And each time it played, I got this subliminal image of Scabby in the back of my mind, and couldn't figure out whether it was the same track or not. Also, God that was shit.

Who was it who submitted the Darkness, mere months before they hit #2? That was good. It meant I already knew the words when everyone was saying 'who are these crazy brilliant people?'

That was Funko I think.

Yeah it was... I remember a couple of weeks before they hit it big they played the song in Ziggys and I thought "hold on, I've heard that before"...

I still think it's shit though. Catchy, but shit and annoying. Coming to a Freshers' bash near you in a couple of years time!

The former. I think just about all the tracks on the last LWP were at least a couple of years old.

I like the fact I had The Darkness on there kind of proves how cutting edge I am.
