Ok, I've finally finished dicking about and LWP6 is ready to roll and I'm gonna start posting the CD's out this afternoon. Reading people I'll give you yours when I next see you.

I was gonna make snazzy CD covers, but my printer seems to be leaving big black smudges over everything at the moment so I haven't bothered. If you'd like a cover there is one here that you can print off for yourself. It's sized for a normal CD case but I can adjust it for single sized CD cases etc if anyone requires. (It should print at about 12cm X 12.2cm)

I don't know how long post takes to get to all your various corners of the world, but I think we should think about setting a provisional deadline for the first reviews. February 14th is an easy to remember date so unless anyone objects that's when it is.

National service is actually a really civilised system. The entry is designed in such a way that the vast majority never get selected, with a laughably complex and arbitrary set of selection rules. The result is that the tradition of service is maintained while the privilidged and the intellgent can get excepted and still feel they've done their duty, all under a system that on the surface is illogical and cruel. It's the product of many centuries of random petty civil service beuraucracy, practically a definition of civilisation I'd say.

Mentally add "which makes it different from the Finnish system where everyone goes, except the ones who take the civilian alternative which lasts longer or go to jail."

What's the point in that Stefu? The army doesn't need you.

Anyway, back when it was like that in sweden too you just had to play insane and they'd let you off. I have a "my mother was a refugee and has instilled in me the horrors of war, I can't possibly cope with it it" speech prepared for any such eventuality.

Practically. I was actually 17 when he retired (two years late), so the poor old bugger in fact got an angsty teenager as a present. I'd feel sorry for him if he hadn't undeniably brought it all on himself :D

Scabrous Birdseed

Really???

My CD burner's usually really good. I know KG had a little problem with one track, but that's the first time I've heard of anything like that happening. So do you have 15 tracks on one of the CD's, or is a whole song missing?

It's all shit?

Scabrous Birdseed
20-01-2004, 11:43:31
No, no, you misunderstand. I've got 14 songs on both CDs, but when song 14 finishes the numbers stick but the music continues anyway, jumping back a couple of songs. It was the same with your Soul CD and my copy of LWP5. :)

Debaser
20-01-2004, 11:53:31

20-01-2004, 11:56:43
Nope. Just works normally for me.

Scabrous Birdseed
20-01-2004, 12:02:49
It's absurd, but after 2:56 of song 14 (which is the end of it btw) it goes back (without the number changing) to like half-way through song 11, then to song 12 where the number starts accumulating again and goes all the way to like 10 minutes or something before it stops again. Don't ask me why, I can't fast-forward through it because then it goes to 2:57 which is the end marker for the 14th track. :clueless:

This only happens with CDs burned by Debaser btw.

Debaser
20-01-2004, 12:04:37
Does it only do that in one CD player, or in all players?

Scabrous Birdseed

Incidentally, both CD's work fine in my car but if I play them in my home stereo I have to start on track 3 or 4 then rewind back to just after the start of track 1.
