As for the list, they've criminally missed out Whitesnake.

Voted for by the deaf?

As any book-lover will know, the otter in the novel/film "Ring of Bright Water" was called "Mij".

Is Van Dik Hout yiffing the otter?

31-12-2003, 11:16:15
This isn't a top 100, this is the VH1 Classic Rock 'Smooth By Day' playlist.

Blf Harder.

Who he?

31-12-2003, 12:04:13
Dutch band. Not as bad as the rest actually. Although I don't like that particular song.

http://www.blof.nl/ On the bottom is a link Video, where you can watch some of it. 'Hier' and 'dichterbij dan ooit' are nice.

True. It stinks of VH1. Thats no excuse for having Phil Collins in there though.

31-12-2003, 16:17:10
Personally I find the two Robbie Williams tracks far more offensive than Collins, especially Feel, which is basically Angels but even worse.

31-12-2003, 16:18:50
I'd blanked out the Williams bit.

Fucking Butlins red coat, pub singing, talentless.......

31-12-2003, 16:25:41
Hmmm...it's like they purposely ignored the big hits and picked the B sides or something....
I don't know about that one...must have been written by somebody on too much glog.

31-12-2003, 16:33:23
Any list that has the Canadian antichrist on it once, let alone twice, is a steaming pile of shit.

( ie Bryan Addams, for the lucky innocents)

31-12-2003, 16:36:55
To be fair though, Summer of 69 is a good song. It's the first tune I ever learnt to play on the guitar.

*gets coat*

31-12-2003, 16:40:54

31-12-2003, 17:22:48
argh ... the ... scorpions ... grnz ...

31-12-2003, 17:26:49
Umm, they're nice fellows.
"Music" is questionable.

31-12-2003, 17:46:59
I have to admit that several of those songs were once favorites, in my less discerning musical stages.

John Lennon
31-12-2003, 18:14:41
Number 48?!?!

Behind Phil Collins?!?

You fucking bastards.

Mark David Chapman
31-12-2003, 18:18:31

Mark David Chapman
31-12-2003, 18:28:31

John Lennon
31-12-2003, 18:32:44

No not round enough, these are mine...

John Lennon
31-12-2003, 18:34:30
Here's me sporting them in happier days....

Kurt Cobain
31-12-2003, 18:41:51
How do you think I feel? I shot myself for god's sake and I'm behind Falco here. I mean, yes, 16, but I deserve better. Fuck.

Bryan Adams
31-12-2003, 18:46:43

Mark David Chapman
31-12-2003, 18:48:08

( ie Bryan Addams, for the lucky innocents) I fully agree. But they I realised it was a spoof when I saw that Simple Minds were on the list as well.

02-01-2004, 12:44:55
More proof it's a spoof: 'Inside' by Stiltskin is missing.

02-01-2004, 13:37:29
No, they were right to leave that off! ;)

02-01-2004, 14:07:19
The entire stiltskin album got a play at new year... when I say the whole album I had to prove that Shakey left his copy of it here and 15 seconds of track one got on.

02-01-2004, 14:42:10
We all had such high hopes for it untill you foolishly went and pressed 'play'.

02-01-2004, 14:44:21

And it certainly isn't a top 1000 as advertised by the thread title.
I feel deprived

Anyway. It makes a nice chance to see something that isn't Bohemian Rhapsody topping one of these

08-01-2004, 20:10:08
No offense, but after reading that list I must know what the fuck is wrong with you?

08-01-2004, 21:09:39
Eh? This list is made by people here by voting for it. I didn't vote, so it doesn' t represent me. But it might be nice if you could tell me nonetheless.

08-01-2004, 21:29:35
People here voted for this? Whats wrong with you people?

08-01-2004, 21:44:13
Ehm, no. Here as in Holland.

08-01-2004, 22:40:57
Ok, what the fuck is wrong with Holland?

Maybe a liberal attitude towards bad tastes goes along with the liberal attitude towards drugs, gay marriage and euthanasia?

Or maybe Bohemian Rhapsody sounds better when you're stoned? It's not like it can sound any worse.

Seriously, though, I've been thinking that Scabby's Swederock CD sure was nice and wouldn't it be such fun if everyone made a CD of their country's lesser-known alternative and indie rock (in other words, pretty much all of it, unless one's British or American), but the Dutch musical tastes make me suspect whether their homegrown bands are much better.

08-01-2004, 23:02:29
Then again, I wonder if the Finnish top 100 would be much better, really.
