Flash games are rarely artistically meaningful affairs. Atmosphere, feelings, beautiful images and thoughts are usually left to pure animation or pseudogames like the wonderful Fly Guy.

Samorost is a glorious exception. Set on a world which is both a starship and a gorgeous driftwood sculpture, it's exceptionally good-looking with great sound, excellent music and a massive helping of atmosphere. The gameplay isn't specacular (puzzle/adventure hybrid in the mode of Gobliiins) and it's a bit short, but its gorgeousness more than makes up for it.

Here's the link at the original developer's:

I didn't use that link 'cause I prefer the resizing flash movie.

I hate rusty steel machines where nothing happens.

I just clicked on a bunch of shit a lot of times and then all of a sudden a ladder popped up.

Then the game ends.

Yeah, I didn't quite get why on that last screen the ladder finally appeared.

It has something to do with the numbers on the dial (10-60) and the number on the machine (0-50)

I think you set it to Q=50 as written on the machine, then press the ladder button. The panel on the right does nothing.
I can't believe it took me so long to figure out though.

I basically tried all combinations one by one until something happened... Never noticed that "50" was written on the machine. For a moment I thought that you had to let out a certain amount of steam from the pipes for the ladder to appear

Wow, that is one amazing game. Not so much the gameplay, but the whole look and feel, the music and sounds. Great stuff!
