I picked this magazine up at in Sainsbury's today, never heard of it before. It's kind of small magazine size, like Glamour, and features lots of voguish indie-garage bands.

I can't work out yet if it's up it's own arse or good, but it came with a free cd which has some cool tracks on, so so far so good.

Ah so the xfm connection is explicit. I wondered, it kind of mentions them several times in the magazine, and the cd features some xfm sessions.

I bought the first issue like a year ago and I thought it was wank. Really predictable opinions and I'd heard of all the artists featured.

yeah after a few browses through it i'm leaning towards that view

luckily the cd has some really great tracks on which i haven't heard before, the best being the ever wonderful Belle and Sebastian and 'step into my office baby'. I didn't buy their most recent album, but i think i'd better remedy that situation immediately.

Sgt Major by Jet was pretty cool too, not heard anyting by jet before, well apart from media hype

You've definately heard at least one Jet song before because I distinctly remember you dancing to it at the AD the other week. Remember the song that goes "I said are you gonna be my girl?" chnr-chng-chng-etc, and sounds a lot like Lust for Life by Iggy Pop? That's by Jet.

The album's pretty good.
Nothing new, just meat and two veg rock n roll. Very Who-esque.
